Trailer Awards: Fall Edition Part 1

Intro from Jessica Ebony:

It’s that time of the year again!

The seasons are changing…leaves will start to fall soon and the sounds and smells of football season are already in the air.  I do enjoy Fall, especially in Atlanta.

Perhaps my favorite part about the fall  is the last round of movies that are eligible for awards season.

Thats right.  When most people are planning out which games they will be watching, I map out which television shows will be on my new fall lineup ( yes I do that every year) and try to see which movies will be worth checking out before the awards begin.  What can I say? I love the idea of a filmmaker trying to capture the whole essence of their work in 3 minutes.  Even though I’m not a fan of spoilers (Terence is) I do love a quick glimpse into the eye of the writers/producers/actors work that can be found in a trailer.

With that being said, we bring you the first round of  The Tomas ScatterBrained Writer Experience Trailer Awards.   Over the next few weeks, myself and Courtney will be bringing you a few of the movies that are coming to you this season.  We hope you enjoy our first round of picks:

Love and Other Drugs

Courtney’s Choice: Most Spoilerific
Why do I need to see this movie now that the trailer has given the ENTIRE plot away?

Terence’s Choice: Haven’t I Seen This Movie Before?
My favorite blogger Nathaniel put it best: “cocksure young successful man who isn’t the settling down type finally meets a girl who turns his world upszzzzzzzz. Sorry, I fell asleep thinking of 2,302 other movies whose names have escaped me.” Though I will be seeing this film, it is an awful lot like every other romantic comedy.

The Town

Courtney’s Choice: Best Trailer Music – worst accent (Blake Lively)

I loved the music, Blake’s accent….not so much lol

Terence’s Choice: Where Did This Come From?! – Unknown movie we now have to see
So let me get this straight, a movie was directed/starring Ben Affleck along with Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Blake Lively, and John Hamm…and I didn’t know about this till the trailer?!

Conviction

Courtney’s Choice: Where Did This Come From?! – Unknown movie we now have to see

This movie looks excellent, but where was the publicity? This seems like the type of film where they would run and tell everyone that it was coming out.

Terence’s Choice: Give Me Awards!-Oscar Bait
True Story? Check. Strong, Awards worthy cast? Check. Interesting Subject Matter? Check. This movie is like a modern day period piece, it had to have been filmed with Oscars in mind.
