Good
1. A Separation wins Foreign Language film. This category often doesn’t reward the right winner but thank goodness they handed this film.

2. Octavia Spencer. She’s toiled in Hollywood for a very long time and totally deserves all of the accolades she got for the Help.

3. Christopher Plummer’s acceptance speech. Just amazing.

4. Emma Stone and Chris Rock. They were both funny in their respective presenting segments.

Bad
1. Viola Davis loses Best Actress. I’m very happy Meryl finally won her 3rd Oscar but I’m sad Viola couldn’t take this one.

2. Billy Crystal’s joke about Black people not living in Beverly Hills…yeah not a good one lol

Ugly
1. Hugo for Best Visual Effects. In another year, this wouldn’t have been a bad decision. But with something as visionary as Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the never rewarded Transformers franchise the Academy chose Hugo?

2. The direction of the Cirque Du Soleil piece. WHY LORD WHY must people cut furiously during tv broadcasts? Just leave the camera in a long shot so we can get a full view of the performance.

P.S. I’m very happy that Meryl finally has a 3rd Oscar…if not purely because I am soo tired of her stans complaining about her being overdue/underappreciated/overlooked. First of all the woman has 17 nominations (more than any actor EVER) and not all for her best work, so I definitely wouldn’t call her underappreciated or overdue for recognition. Now she has a 3rd Oscar that’s all but aluded her. So be happy stans…and please go away and STFU now that your goddess has won.

P.S.S. I somehow went 3-3 in the short categories…that’s definitely a first.
