I’m a little behind on my film trailer comments so here is some quick analysis of new trailers.

On The Road

Yes:
-Love the feel of the trailer
-the main cast looks great. I’m so looking forward to seeing Kristen Stewart tear into non-franchise film roles
-that supporting cast isn’t half bad either (Kristen Dunst, Amy Adams, Terrence Howard, Viggo Mortensen)
-famous book + director who has helmed a road trip film before can’t hurt
-Kristen and Garret’s dancing scene looks so fun and free, it’s my fave part of the trailer

No:
-Road trip movies are either hit or REALLY miss

Maybe So:
-the book really tapped into the cultural zeitgeist of the time, will the material be relevant still?

Dark Shadows

Yes:
-Eva Green looks like she’s having a fun time as an overtly sexual witch

No:
-EVERY special effect looks cheap, the makeup a mess, the accents are awful, the color scheme…
-Tim Burton hasn’t made a good film since Big Fish and my retinas still haven’t recovered from Eyesore in Wonderland
-and wtf is johnny depp doing? Remember when he had such range and was in the Oscar conversation? None of the jokes he tried to land were funny

Maybe So:
-none, I’m a no all the way

This look sums up how I feel about this trailer .
