1920-twSummer was made for television shows like Teen Wolf, which premieres on June 3rd on MTV. The supernatural drama has everything you’d expect from genetically blessed cast members to insane amounts of drama mixed in with high action and intrigue. But Teen Wolf has managed to succeed where other summer supernatural dramas have failed by grounding the series with its fantastic writing. After screening the first two episodes of the third season, it’s clear that the show is not only maintaining its great sense of self, but is pushing the boundaries of it’s storytelling and angling to be the show of the summer.

The new season picks up 4 months after the events of the season finale, giving the characters and the series a nice reset, without compromising the integrity of the story. This season find the main characters trying to move on with their lives in Beacon Hills after the events of the finale which resurrected someone who died, nearly killed another character, and ended the relationship between the two main characters. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), the titular teen wolf, and his friends are trying to resume their lives and get back to some semblance of normalcy. However, the peace is short lived as a pack of Alpha werewolves has arrived in the town of Beacon Hills eager to bring Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) into the pack and mysterious murders are happening that may signal a wider threat more powerful than any of them know.
