Well hello everyone, I was given the opportunity by Terence to write recaps for the 3rd season of HBO’s Girls. This is something new for me so we will see how this recapping business goes throughout the season.
-The 3rd season begins with Hannah (Lena Dunham) and Adam (Adam Driver) in bed together, Marnie (Allison Williams) waking up alone in some couch in Rainbow Brite sheets , Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) waking up with some random college guy, and Jessa (Jemina Kirke) washing dishes at some place.
-Hannah and Adam are at the coffee shop where Hannah works at and both are talking to Ray (Alex Karpovsky), where we find out that Ray is now living in Adam’s old apartment so that means that Adam is living together with Hannah. So surprise surprise when Adam spots Natalia (Shiri Appleby), his ex from season 2 along with her friend Angie, well talk about an awkward confrontation that they have, where Natalia was not playing as she goes off on Adam and finally meets Hannah.
-Marnie is now living with her mom Evie (Rita Wilson), and is talking about Charlie (Christopher Abbott) leaving her (though we all know this happened since Christopher departed the show) also Marnie is now working at the coffee shop where Hannah works. Shosh looks super depressed as she broke up with Ray last season and I’m pretty sure that a life of partying and sleeping with randoms is catching up to her. We find out that Jessa is in rehab (so that’s where she disappeared to last season) and we see an array of characters in that rehab group. Spotted a lot of cool guest stars like Danielle Brooks (Tasytee from Orange is the New Black), Kim Gordon (singer from Sonic Youth) and Richard E. Grant (from Doctor Who fame).
-We see a meeting between Hannah and David (John Cameron Mitchell) and he’s saying that Hannah’s book is coming along nicely and she’s also still seeing her shrink where we get a scene with him and her talking about how things are going and about her relationship with Adam. Hannah and Adam are throwing a dinner party where she is going to invite her friends and Adam is not very happy about this he proceeds to tell Hannah that he doesn’t hate her friends, but he is just not interested in anything they have to say lol (oh Adam he is on a roll). Dinner time for Hannah, Adam, Marnie, and Shosh…in where Adam looks like he wishes he could be miles away from this dinner, but gives this interesting talk to Marnie about an ex-girlfriend and the stuff they used to do, yeah pretty explicit stuff lol
-Scene with Hannah and Adam in bed, where someone is calling her and it’s Jessa telling her she’s been in rehab and that Hannah needs to pick her up, where after she finishes talking to her she tells Adam “How old do you have to be to rent a car?” So road trip time!
