Sorry everyone that the recap is a bit late, this weekend I was at the Days of the Wolf Con, and was super exhausted after coming home.

This episode starts with Marnie (Allison Williams) she’s putting flowers in vases and we see her putting a name tag of each girl on the beds of all these different rooms. Marnie opens the doors outside of one of the bedrooms and we get this gorgeous view we are at a beach house and the show opens with some classical music as the credits roll. I think this was my fave of these opening titles because of how it was done.

We see a bus arriving and Marnie is waiting for the girls, out from the bus comes Hannah (Lena Dunham) along with Shosh (Zosia Mamet) and Jessa (Jemima Kirke). As Shosh is coming near Marnie she mentions that this is the Hamptons, but Marnie corrects her saying this is North Fork and it’s different from the Hamptons that “this is for people that think the Hamptons are tacky and don’t have to be on a beach that is near a J. Crew” and this sparks Shosh’s interest about the J. Crew mention.

Everyone arrives at the beach house and Hannah, Shosh, and Jessa are fighting for which room they want, and Marnie tells them that she had a feeling this would happen so she explains to them that she had assigned their rooms already and that Jessa’s room is in the lighthouse because it’s bohemian. Marnie tells Hannah that both of them will be sharing a room together just like old times and we can see how Hannah feels about this with just the look on her face that she does not want to do this. The girls are enjoying their time in the pool and then we see them on the beach where Hannah is complaining that the sand is hard and Marnie reminds her that she should have listened and brought her sand shoes. Marnie goes on to say that all of them are so disconnected now and that she thought this would be a great opportunity to have fun together. She tells the girls, “To prove together via Instagram that we can still have fun as a group” (Hahaha) Also she goes on to say that she wants to have an awesome weekend of watching “The Queens of Comedy” and writing wishes and throwing them into a bonfire, but that first they need to go grocery shopping.

The girls are riding bicycles into town and Marnie mentions to Hannah why she didn’t wear clothes because Hannah is still wearing the bikini from earlier telling Marnie that it’s going to be okay just like in old times, but to her chagrin they tell her she can’t come in because she’s not wearing any shoes so waits outside. We see Elijah (Andrew Rannells) and his entourage walking towards Hannah who is looking inside the grocery shop so she is giving their back to them and Pal (Danny Strong, hey there Jonathan from Buffy) says, “Oh my god, look guys Spring Breakers” Hahaha! I could not stop laughing at this just too hilarious. Hannah turns around and Elijah is surprised to see her there and the guys mention how much they loved her bikini and she tells them that that’s not true, because she heard them laughing at her. She mentions to Elijah that she doesn’t want to make small talk with him and comments that the movie Spring Breakers was a “beautiful blend of art and commerce” hahaha Elijah tells her that he still feels bad for leaving her and Hannah says he missed him too. But we also get reminded of the time Marnie and Elijah slept together and that’s the reason that Hannah is still angry at him. Hannah invites Elijah and company to the beach house.

Back to the beach house, Elijah is telling Hannah how he gained weight and also how he lost it by doing the Victoria Principal diet which consists of “drinking black coffee and you can have one slice of turkey until 4pm” (Oh boy, just hilarious…seriously I love Elijah). Marnie tells Hannah that she can’t believe that she invited Elijah especially when he was the beginning of what started this whole rift between them. We then get a scene with Marnie and Elijah and both apologize for what happened between them and also that both regret it. Get a quick scene with Hannah and Pal and he’s telling Hannah that Elijah never talks about the stuff he does. Marnie is talking to Elijah about her breaking up with Charlie and how he just left by starting to pack his things that he didn’t say one word to her and that he finally told her that he didn’t love her and never did. She mentions that Charlie’s business went under and Marnie mentions to him that weren’t they friends he says they were but that back then he thought that both of them were closet cases, but then he realized that his issues were way more complicated than being gay. She mentions that Ray (Alex Karpovsky) is introducing her to explore new sides of her creativity, where Elijah mentions him  as “Old man Ray”

Everyone is at the pool and Marnie is mentioning to Hannah that she has abandonment issues from her father and Hannah tells her that she does. Jessa is reaching out to one of the guys while she is naked and of course he is not interested. Marnie is getting upset because everyone is having fun at the pool and she wants to talk to Hannah. So everyone leaves the pool and apparently everyone was skinny dipping hahaha….Marnie looks upset, you can clearly see she’s pissed at Hannah…then Shosh is drunk and starts arguing with Marnie of why does everything always have to be so perfect…so basically everyone is arguing and Shosh tells Hannah that she’s a freaking narcissist, and that no one listens to her…I believe either Marnie or Hannah tell her that she is a cruel drunk…at one point one of the girls calls the boys that they look like the cast of Magic Mike (loved that so much).

Jessa, Hannah, and Shosh wake up and are cleaning the kitchen when in walks Marnie and she also starts helping. So the girls are waiting to go back home to the city and then all four of them start doing the dance that one of Elijah’s entourage member taught them and end of the episode.

This episode was okay for me, I don’t know if it was the lack of sleep and how exhausted I was, but compared to previous episodes this season it was alright. Though I remember that I asked a while back that I wanted to see more stuff with all four girls, and clearly with this episode you see how disconnected the girls really are from each other especially Hannah and Marnie. So what did you guys think of the episode? Share your thoughts down below.
