Game of Thrones is back yall!
-We got our first flashback of the series and honestly, I wasn’t all that impressed with it. I mean it was fun for a second to see how young Cersei was as much of a brat as her older self was, but did we need to know/care that some seer told her that her husband would be a whoremonger and that she’d commit incest with Jamie? Like whatever…
-What was interesting with Cersei was when she was in King’s Landing being forced to reckon with what her lot is now that her daddy has died. First, she’s madt at Jamie for not pushing to find Tyrion more. Then she gotta deal with Margaery putting the moves on Tommen (I LOVED that simple exchange those two had swiping their hands together). And finally she had to meet her cousin (who she also slept with ugh) and he says he’s joined the Sparrows and is at peace. Now this is sure to be a big plot line during the season cause why else would a random religion be brought up?
-Dany had an interesting time this week. She gave us words to live by “angry snakes lash out, makes chopping of their heads that much easier,” but she’s also wrestling with running Mereen. She doesn’t want to open the fighting pits tho everyone wants her too. ANd even after getting what I assume is some good dick from Daario, she goes to visit her dragons and they weren’t here for her at all. Kinda hard to be the mother of dragons with no dragons to use…
-That scene where the soldier got his throat cut was a wonderful exercise in surprising the audience.
-Speaking of soldiers, Grey Worm really sat here and acted like he aint know why Missandei asked him why soldiers visit whores. SHE WANTS WHATEVER YOU HAVE BETWEEN YOUR LEGS (assuming you still have the shaft) GREY WORM!
-Let Us Pray Over Sansa Ep 1: Sansa is my favorite character…and most of my favorite characters have died, so I gotta pray weekly for her safety. She seems fine this week, just watching Robyn get his ass beat and riding in carraige with Littlefinger. They even passed Brienne and Podrick who were unaware of them.
-My favorite moment of the episode might have been when Margaery burst into the room to impede on Loras and Oliver (the guy Oberyn was smanging last season) smanging. This moment was everything cause 1)hello gay on game of thrones 2) Loras not giving a damn about anyone knowing he’s fucking men annd 3) Margaery and him plotting how to move forward now that Tywin is dead.
-Varys and Tyrion traveling together is going to be such fun. They are both smart and witty and now that Varys has explained to Tyrion his plans, we’re sure to get some drama. Also I loved what he said about a ruler in that they need someone “stronger than Tommen and gentler than Stannis.”
-Stannis is getting bold as hell! He wants to use the Wildlings to take back the North which…isn’t a terrible plan honestly. He hoped to have Mance surrender to him to make it easier, but instead had to settle for burning him on a pyre.
-We’re being set up for something epic with Jon Snow aren’t we? Him training that boy, being the person Stannis wanted to talk to, him putting Mance out of his misery…all big things. Do I have to put him on my prayer watch list?
-Best cameo of the episode: Ghost chewing on a bone.
