Sir Malcolm finally sees the light, while Angelique makes a discovery about her beau Dorian…and truly Victor has no idea what is in store for him when it comes to his two creations.
Lily (Billie Piper) is humming and in bed with the old man she killed…she’s saying that boys should always remain boys at heart and it’s sad when they grow up and that now he will not be able to grow up as she leaves. Victor (Harry Treadaway) is passed out on the floor after taking some drugs (remember our good old doctor is an addict)…Caliban (Rory Kinnear) enraged drops on a bucket of water on him, which wakes him up. Caliban is yelling at him asking where Lily is and almost at the point of electrocuting Victor. He tells the doctor that Lily is his and that he will take her and that one day he will return to him and show him the monster he made and leaves.
Good old Inspector Rusk is walking with one of his colleagues and he shows Rusk some papers telling him that last year Sir Malcolm visited Scotland Yard and that intrigues him. Mr. Lyle (Simon Russell Beale) is talking to Evelyn (Helen McCrory) she wants to know where Vanessa and Ethan are and if he knows their whereabouts and lucky for Mr. Lyle he doesn’t…as he leaves he runs into Hecate and wants to know what her mother’s plans are telling Lyle that if he sides with her that he will live longer and she wants to know about Ethan.
Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) is looking through old photographs of his children and wife when Sembene (Danny Sapani) tells him he has a visitor and it’s Inspector Rusk. Sir Malcolm being cautious wants to know why Rusk is here and he tells Malcolm the reason for his visit is because he wants to know why last year he went to Scotland Yard to ask about the Spitfield Murders and that he had told them that they needed to stop hunting for a man and start hunting for a beast. Sir Malcolm tells him he doesn’t recall anything and that all of that was just a caprice…then Rusk shows him the flyer of Ethan’s Wild West show and tells him he doesn’t recognize him. The Inspector knows that Sir Malcolm is hiding something, but leaves and tell him to not hesitate if he remembers anything and to visit Scotland Yard since he knows the way.
Lily finally arrives home and Victor wants to know where she was…she tells him to calm himself and mentions she had an entertaining evening with Dorian and that she lost track of time and Dorian has sent her flowers. Victor still shaken up after what happened with Caliban, tells Lily that they should get away from here and leave London…but she doesn’t want to leave telling him this place is their home.
Victor is at Sir Malcolm’s…where they are having a conversation about the way both of them have been feeling lately…saying that they are enchanted as Sir Malcolm puts it. He says that he’s grown into a happy man but that he isn’t that person mentioning to Victor that the day of his wife’s funeral he was dancing at a ball and wants to know who that man was…Evelyn is chanting in Verbis Diablo to the Sir Malcolm doll and the heart if it is pumping. Mr. Lyle tells the gang that the narrative of the relics is complete and that it cannot leave the room. He mentions that the Apocalypse is coming and again mentions the Hound of God, which is a threat to the demons plan… Sir Malcolm mentions that it isn’t Hound but Wolf in the translation and the table rumbles. Sir Malcolm’s eyes turn black and he’s possessed telling everyone to meet their Master when Sembene grabs him and throws him into a room and he sees his wife and children and they are dancing while Victor, Sembene, and Sir Lyle are looking at these events unfolding all while Evelyn is still chanting and a mirror breaks and she is frustrated that her plan with Sir Malcolm didn’t work…he releases himself from her enchantment (about time).
We get a montage of events happening with everyone. Dorian (Reeve Carney) is preparing to leave and Angelique (Jonny Beauchamp) asks if he is going to see Lily again. Sir Malcolm has left his home in a gun in hand, while Victor sleeps. Dorian and Lily are out again and from across the street Caliban watches them. Angelique finds Dorian’s secret passageway and walks inside. Sir Malcolm has arrived where else but to Evelyn’s and Sembene notices he is gone and tells Victor and Mr. Lyle that they need to find Ethan and Vanessa…while Sir Malcolm can hear the laughs of Evelyn and her Nightcomers attack him.
Dorian returns home and notices that something is off…he finds Angelique in that room where he keeps that painting…he tells her that she has discovered his secret…that he is forever unchanging and that if Angelique can accept him and love him after all of this…she tells him yes and then Dorian gives her a glass and she takes a sip and guess what it was poisoned and Angelique falls to the floor and he says that he doesn’t think she could (can’t believe this is ending they gave Angelique after everything). Finally we see the painting and of course if you’ve read The Picture of Dorian Gray or know of the story it’s a painting of him…he look super old looking and tied in chains and the Dorian in the painting moves and Dorian just smiles.
Lily arrives home and Caliban is lurking in the shadows and startles her and she tells him that he should come back at another time when Victor is here. Caliban angry tells Lily that she needs to stop pretending she’s frightened and wants to know who is really is…she calls him a pathetic creature and starts mocking him…and tells him that she will never kneel for any man again and that they will kneel to her from now on. She then sits him down and calls Caliban her monster…her beautiful corpse and that it’s her and him now and what should they do with this new found power. She tells him that when Victor comes home that both of them will put their hands around Victor’s throat and watch him die (oh Victor you’ve created these two monsters and now look at them planning your demise). Lily tells Caliban that they were meant to rule…they are the new conquerors…they are the dead and kiss and Lily tells him that no one will love him like she does and this folks is about to get crazy.
Sir Malcolm and Evelyn are talking and he mentions why she wants Vanessa and Evelyn tells him because the Master desires her and that she can give Sir Malcolm eternal life because she’s been alone for far too long and that’s she tired of living alone…he tells her that he would love to tear her head off her shoulders and that he would laugh. He mentions to her that he will do anything she wants, but that nothing can happen to Vanessa and Evelyn tells him she can’t do that…he tells her Vanessa means all to him. Evelyn tells him that she always knew that Vanessa was his favorite as she puts a scorpion on his lap and as she proceeds to leave she tells him that she is leaving him with a few memories that will sting. Sir Malcolm throws the scorpion on the floor and tries to leave but he can’t… he’s inside the Memento Mori room. There is a coffin in the middle of the room and Sir Malcolm opens it and he sees his son Peter inside and he grabs him and cries…then there are two more coffins and it’s his daughter Mina and his wife Gladys and he sees them all come to life wanting to attack him and that’s it end of the episode…with two episodes remaining this season.
