If I Had an Emmy Ballot: The Best of 2015-2016 TV

It has certainly been a crazy year in TV has it not? There have been so many shows and so little time that its no surprise this will be one of the most competitive Emmy races in recent memory. It was very difficult for me to narrow down all of the shows and movies that I watched (well over 65 for the year) but I think I’ve managed to come up with an awesome Emmy BALLOT.
Some quick analysis before we get to the noms and awards:
-This year was so plentiful that I was able to split the Miniseries and Movie categories. In most years i sit up here STRUGGLING to combine them. Miniseries especially was insane in the acting races, just look at Best Actor.
-The comedy race is once again topped by a first season show, although it’s bittersweet as Telenovela was cancelled by NBC. It was the only show that made me consistently LOL with no abandon. In terms of nominations, I really hope the Emmys broaden the field as each of my comedy nominees is incredibly broad in terms of network, subject matter, etc.
-I was so insanely torn with regards to what would take Best Drama series and Drama Actress. This year was a resurgent one for shows in the former and as challenging a year in the latter. As long as I don’t look at my choices I can remain happy lol
-Show that was postponed: Preacher didn’t air enough episodes by my deadline therefore it will be counted towards the 2016-2017 race.
