Shadowhunters Episode 2.06 Recap “Iron Sisters”

Y’all, I don’t think I have ever been this excited for a Shadowhunters episode but listen my spirit was READY for tonight’s episode. Malek first date, bad ass warrior women, Izzy/Aldertree drama yaaaaaas.

First, I want to give a bonus shoutout to the cross promotional commercial this show did in conjunction with 50 Shades of Grey. Just brilliant all around. From the voiceover to Izzy being with Raphael and Simon, to his foolish remarks. It was great.

Malec First Date
Honestly, this was everything that I thought it would be. It was fun to see Magnus and Alec interacting, loved their game of pool where it looked like Alec was wiping the floor with Magnus, till he started busting out the slick pool moves. I cackled something mighty when he asked Alex about his exes and got confirmation that he only had one ex. I cackled even mightier when Alex told Magnus he could tell him how many exes he’s had and that he could round down, with Magnus replying 17…aka 17,000. SEVENTEEN THOUSAND PEOPLE CHRIST ON A CRACKER! If/when these two have sex, Alex is gonna legit be ruined for all time. What is it even like to be with a lover who has tested moves out on 17,000 people?! My goodness. This seems to be a big snag in the relationship but Alex forges ahead and kisses Magnus YAS only to be hilarious stopped from a second one when Jace asks to move in.

Izzy
I KNEW THAT MESS SHE GOT FROM ALDERTREE WAS GONNA BE BAD AND IT TURNS OUT IT HAD VAMPIRE BLOOD IN IT! Fuck that bitch Aldertree. I hope Izzy whips him till he can’t breathe >:{

Other than that drag, I actually loved everything about the visit to the citadel and the Iron Sisters. Diverse bad ass warrior women I will always be hear for. More than that, I really dug how Shadowhunters has been weaving in the mythology of their world (aside from the vampires). Learning that these women imbue the metal with the Shadowhunters energy and more importantly, the Soul Sword has the ability to wipe out all Downworlders when activated with angelic energy! I knew this episode was proceeding too nicely only to see at the end that Cleophus, sister to Luke!, is actually a member of the circle! PRECIOUS LAWD TAKE MY HAND!

The search for Luke leads Maia and Simon to spend some quality time together and I am here for this potential relationship. Although his dumb ass still was looking at Clary like she makes the sun shine at the end.
