Demon Wolfcast Episode 7: “Currents”

Micah and I thought we had toughened up after the Red Wedding but Jeff Davis is a master manipulator and last night’s episode of Teen Wolf titled “Currents” has left the Demon Wolfcast in an extremely somber mood. We breakdown the episode including that devastating death, Mama McCall’s awesomeness and wonder about whether the narrative is serving the characters well. Also, I share a few of the highlights from Teen Wolf Revelations and wonder about what the Comic-Con might have in store for us. Dig in!

So Deaton was supposed to be the 9th sacrifice, right? We had 3 virgins, 3 military figures, and Deaton was the third ‘healer’ after the moth lady in the car and the ER attending they found the body of. They made a point in the episode of calling it out that this could be a group of three ‘healers’. I wonder what is going to happen with the druids now. Will they go looking in search of another healer to be the third or are they going to after Deaton again? Because there’s only one other ‘healer’ on the show … 🙁

I think that at this point, unless a character is in those main credits, they are on death alert lol but yes I do believe Deaton was supposed to be the 9th sacrifice

Derek’s going to go even lower since Cora’s life will be in jeopardy in the last few episodes of this season. I don’t know, man… There’s never been a character that has been this much of a punching bag. And since Derek’s isn’t the protagonist, he wouldn’t be guaranteed a happy ending? I’m starting to suspect he would die in the last season, for someone else, and that would make him feel like he has finally redeemed himself? That’s how these kind of tragic anti-hero storylines always go anyway.

The extended promo hints that the girl young!Derek was kissing is dead, but well… Still doesn’t write out that the girl might be Jennifer, since her comment about faking death seemed to be about herself?

Oh Lord I had forgotten about that stuff with Cora…sigh. I just want to take Isaac and Derek away from Jeff Davis and help them get his life right.

At this point, I’ll take any theory regarding Jennifer other than her being Derek’s mate or some awful shit like that. It would be awesome if she faked her death and was this evil woman, I’d love her lol

    Hi,

Thanks for responding to my previous posts, it looks as if in the next episode my question about Ducalion’s age will be answered.

As Danny was a potential victim do you think he was in the class of ‘Athlete’, they have had virgins, warriors/soldiers and then healers? Or does he fall under scholar, as from his paper and what has been shown of him he is a good student.

That’s an interesting theory and Danny could certainly fit either of those two categories. The only thing that would give me pause is none of the other sacrifices have been hurt or poisoned with mistletoe. All of these other deaths have been horrendously violent but the actual capture of the people hasn’t been. So what made Danny so special?
