Teen Wolf Comic-Con Panel Recap including Scoop on 3B!

There are panels you attend and those you experience, and the Teen Wolf panel that took place in Ballroom 20 was definitely the latter. As an uber fan of this show and someone who spends hours out of the week discussing said show I was super excited for the panel, which honestly wasn’t as raucous or interesting as I thought it would be. In any matter, I am going to do my best to recap the panel from my tweets, the ridiculous shambles of my Twitter mentions. Here it goes!

The panel began with Jarett from ET spouting off some information regarding the remix of the main theme which you can listen to here. He then introduced the cast and had you never watched an episode of this show in your life you’d have thought Dylan O’Brien was the lead of this show. GOOD GOD were the screams for him loud. He then spoke a bit about the season saying that Currents is on track to become the most watched episode of all time. Jeff then led off the discussion saying that when he began envisioning who Scott would be he had to ask himself whether he’d be Neo or Frodo.

Jarett said that he likes Doomed and I have never felt so betrayed by a moderator in my life. I KNOW this to be a lie from the man’s Twitter feed. It did provide Hoechlin with one of his funnier lines, remarking that he was glad Jeff gave him new things to play with. *picks mind out of the gutter and hangs head in shame*

Regarding Stiles, Jeff said that the question of his virginity will be answered in an upcoming episode. Also getting a reveal? Lydia, who we will FINALLY find out about in episode 9.

After this came the trailer, which I feel like everyone saw before the people attending the panel. *aside* what the fuck is the purpose of having an exclusive trailer for your Comic-Con attendees if you are going to post the shit online during the day of the panel? Come on Teen Wolf, do better *end of aside* SO MUCH happened in that trailer that I can’t even begin to recap it all. Luckily tumblr helps with these things so here you go! (Also I HOLLERED at Kali and the twins being called Team Rocket).

Speaking of that trailer, Stydia…ugh DO NOT WANT and I said as much in this post. However, I did not feel like there was anything romantic in the moment and Jeff totally said that kiss wasn’t just a kiss. Also the Stydia and Doomed moments were back to back in the trailer. What was crazy is while there was a sizable cheer for Doomed during the trailer, the place ERUPTED during that Stydia moment. Do y’all really ship Stydia like that? Blah.

We then moved to the fan Q&A part which had me rubbing my hands together like an evil villain but proved to be really basic. There wasn’t a single question about Doomed, Stydia, or anything really big from the latter half of the season. I am slightly upset cause I wanted to see the fandom uproar manifesting in front of me first hand. But I’m a terrible person so…Anyways the main things to take away from the Q&A:

tumblr_mq62jkb0fa1s1lvwyo2_500-Keahu is awesome and showed up in full cosplay to ask about Danny

-Dylan said that he wants Stiles to remain human, but that the sex needs to happen

-Jeff said it was a hard decision to move the show from Atlanta but chile you could have fooled me the way these people talked about the move earlier this year. Also, $11 million in tax credits sure can ease the pain.

-Jeff then decided to troll us by saying his favorite comedic scene were the pool and Miguel. I WON’T FALL FOR IT JEFF! Hoechlin also remarked that his favorite scene was when the kanima paralyzed him and Stiles.

lmao RT @sinycath: So basically Hoechlin loved to have Dylan on top of him #hobrien

LOL I hate Siny for this tweet.

-This girl then came up and fucked up her question asking if the cast would want to be vampires instead of werewolves like she meant to ask. I cackled in laughter while she started shaking and almost cried while the cast was trying to calm her down (I realize I’m a terrible person) but the cast was nice and answered her.

-Tyler Hoechlin said that if he could tell Derek anything it would be to invest in some UFC fight training cause Derek loses every fight. BITCH YES SPEAK THE TRUTH TYLER MAKE IT PLAIN! Chile Derek is like 0 for life when it comes to fights, my God is he a flop.

-Someone asked a question about whether the cast checks tumblr or ships anyone. Holland said that the cast does regularly check Tumblr, so y’all miscreants need to act right.

-JEFF IS A SCISAAC SHIPPER I REPEAT JEFF SAID IN PUBLIC THAT HE SHIPS SCISAAC. *melts into a puddle of feels* He also made an off hand joke about sterek being over but he was NOT serious at all. It doesn’t read funny in print but it was hilarious.

-The Q&A ended with the cast listing spinoff ideas. T-Pose said “Stiles and Scott” while Crystal Reed said she wanted hers to be called “Ally A saves the Day!” and that she’d take Lydia and Stiles. Hoechlin said he wants a show called House of Hale with Peter and Isaac, and possible Stiles. *notes this for fan fic purposes* The best title for a show was Max Carver saying he wants to do one with Daniel called “Scarves of Our Fathers”.

SEASON 3B SCOOP!

Now for the big stuff. Jeff mentioned at the beginning of the panel that Teen Wolf Season 3B will be premiering on January 6th. He also let loose these juicy tidbits.

-Danny will cross paths with the supernatural more in 3B
-Kira, an Asian American student, will be joining the cast
-The mythology will be based on Japanese kitsunes which are foxes and shape shifters!

Well, I’m just a casual Stydia shipper, though I do like them more as friends/bros/detectives-in-crime. But that scene in the super trailer was EXACTLY how I pictured them to be. I had no doubt that some kind of Stydia was going to happen someday, but I didn’t want them to jump into a romance suddenly. So I thought it might happen when one of them was in an emotional state, and Lydia makes the first move.

I don’t know for sure what would happen later, but I always thought it was highly likely that Stiles would push her away or something and there would be a mention of Jackson… ??? And somehow they figure out that they are better as friends. When you watch their interactions this season, it doesn’t seem like they could work that well as a romantic couple anymore.

Can’t wait to find a workable link to watch the panel!
