My goodness did HBO’s Looking leave us with a sterling cap to it’s premiere season. Let’s just dig right in.
Augustin: He probably had the most straightforward of the plot lines so I won’t spend too much time on him. Basically Augustin was waiting around to try and talk to Frank, who was having none of it. However Augustin had to press his luck and Frank then gave him the READ OF A LIFETIME saying that his whole charade was of a bored little rich kid and told him that even if he tried his best he’d be a mediocre artist. GOT. DAMN. FUCKING. SHIT. Frank read this man for FILTH…I mean just left Augustin and the audience edgeless like this photo below. I was cackling during this scene and it serves his trifling ass right.
He then spent the rest of the episode being high and mothered by Patrick…but who cares. It was all about that read from Frank.
Dom: I have to say that I did not expect Dom’s story to turn out the way it did. Unlike my predictions, Dom’s restaurant opening went pretty well, even though it took a while for some folks to get there. One of those folks was Lynn, who had the audacity to show up with someone! At this point I was like
But this is why you have to have good friends. Dorris comes up to Lynn and in one of my favorite scenes from the episode tell him that Dom is worth it. He might be tough but he’s worth it. YES DORRIS you stand up for your friend! It must have made an impact because although he played hard to get, he totally kissed Dom back when Dom kissed him.
Patrick: Y’all like…I don’t even know if I can recap all the stuff that happened to Patrick. Let me break it down into sections with gifs to correspond to my feelings.
Patrick goes to Richie’s barbershop to try and talk to him since he hadn’t been returning his calls. Richie then basically says that the reason he hadn’t been returning his calls is that he didn’t want to speak with him and needs some space. My poor Team Richie heart was crushed.
Which then moved us into the Kevin portion of the night, wherein Patrick’s boss tried to apologize to him about kissing him. Much like Richie’s reaction to him, Patrick all but shuts down the conversation and I was so proud. However, Kevin keeps trying to get his attention while Patrick is out calling and saying there’s a “server issue” and he needs his help to fix it. Immediately I was like
Patrick though is not the brightest person in the shed and goes, not realizing he’s been set up by Kevin into a situation. Kevin and Patrick are all alone in the office and though Patrick tries to leave, Kevin tells him that he can’t stop thinking about him and wants to kiss him. Patrick, wisely, points out that he has a boyfriend but then, unwisely, kisses Kevin back and the end up fucking in the office.
First of all, I was mad that Patrick 1)slept with his boss and 2)bottomed. Didn’t we spend a whole damn episode on him not wanting to do it? What changed? Did Kevin’s wide ears and accent spread your cheeks legs body Patrick???
But on the other hand,
the scene was pretty hot lol
Then Patrick goes home after his torrid sexy times with Kevin…only to see Richie standing outside his house! I had to ask Jesus to come get the wheel cause I was already unable to deal. Richie and Patrick then have an amazingly adult conversation wherein Richie basically apologizes and shares with Patrick his true feelings. And then he drops this bomb on Patrick “I’m this close to falling in love with you, but I’m not going to if you’re not ready and I don’t think you’re ready.”
LAWD JESUS WHY MUST YOU ALLOW ME TO SUFFER WITH MY OTPs?????? I JUST WANTED TO BE TEAM RICHIE AND HAVE A GOOD TIME I DIDN’T SIGN UP FOR THIS AND FUCK JONATHAN GROFF AND RAUL CASTILLO FOR BEING SO AMAZING IN THIS SCENE BUT WHYYYYYYYYYYY OMG IF HE’D HAVE JUST SAID THIS LAST WEEK EVERYTHING WOULD BE GOOD AND NOW THE PLOT WILL BE INTERESTING BUT MY HEART IS BROKEN YET SEMI-OK AND I JUST…YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO DO THIS LOOKING! I should have known that the man who created Weekend would leave me all in my feelings but I let them lull me into a sense of security and now I’m all
HOW WILL I GO ON UNTIL SEASON TWO??????

I was perfectly fine staying uninvolved but then Richie’s awesomeness sucked me in and now I can’t leave.
