If I Had an Oscar Ballot, 2016 Edition

Welcome to my annual Oscar ballot post. Normally this would come post Oscar nominations, but due to them being announced next week rather than this one, it gets an early showcase. After tabulating these results, The Witch leads all films with 9 nominations, followed by Arrival with 7 (surprising even myself, I’ve come to appreciate that film more since seeing it), Captain America: Civil War with 6, and Moonlight with 5. Overall a great spread of nominations, I was happy to find places for smaller films like Hello, My Name is Doris, Embrace the Serpent, and The Handmaiden amidst the bigger pictures.
