The Oscars are over but I still have a few things to say about the 2013 film year, one of the most diverse slates of films we’ve been given. I did one quick perusal of the year and decided what I would have done had I been given an Oscar ballot way back in December.

Girls start off with Hannah’s mom, Loreen (Becky Ann Baker) and she’s on the phone with Hannah (Lena Dunham) telling her that her grandma is in the hospital and is going to die, that she has pneumonia and that Hannah has to go see her before she dies and tells her mom that she’s coming.
