2014 in Review: Albums of the Year

2014 was not a stong year for music. That might not be the best way to start off a list highlighting the good stuff but it has to be said. However, this might have been a given because of how many classics we were delivered in 2013. There were some standouts in the music biz and this list reflects the collective offering we were given this year. So without further ado, here’s my choices for albums of the year.

New Music: Lana Del Rey “West Coast”

I love unexpected surprises on a Monday morning. My cup was already running over given what happened on Game of Thrones last night, but Lana Del Rey wanted to make sure to keep my praise party going by releasing her new track “West Coast”. And it. Is. Everything. The beat, the lyrics, the mood, and

I Stumbled Down a Pentatonix Rabbit Hole…

Sometimes when you surf these inter webs you stumble upon really cool stuff. I was slightly familiar with the Pentatonix cause they appears in Toddrick Hall’s Wizard of Ahhs video and so I thought it would be a good idea to check out their channel to see if they had anything I might want to

Macklemore and the Curious Case of True Hip Hop

I know by now you all are tired of all the Macklemore think pieces but this is my blog and dammit I’ll write what I want *Cartman voice* To be honest I thought I would stay out of it but something clicked for me the other day.

New Music: Major Lazer featuring Pharrell – Aerosol Can

Y’all my life has been bereft of really good music lately so praise Eloheim a track like this came along. Major Lazer and Pharrell have teamed up for a new track called Aerosol Can and its amazing. Take a listen! [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5Gna1dIxtA&w=420&h=315]

New Music: Shakira ft Rihanna “Can’t Remember to Forget You”

Every once in a while there comes a song that you know in your heart of hearts you should hate but try though you might, you can’t. Enter this Shakira song ft. Rihanna “Can’t Remember to Forget You” that I actually kind of dig. I have shaded the vocals of both “singers” before but they compliment each other very well on this track and the reggae beat is very solid. Listen to the track and decide for yourself.
