Kelly Rowland, one third of Destiny’s Child and the queen of the sexy feature, has been known more for her appearances on rap songs lately than her solo career. But she’s been working on new material all the while and after releasing several singles, this past week we finally got Talk a Good Game, her first album since 2011’s Here I Am. It took me a bit to get around to this album with all Yeezus seemingly sucking up all the airspace, but after listening to Talk a Good Game, I definitely think it deserves a breakdown.
Between people laying in slices of bread and Miley putting on a grill, I haven’t the slightest clue what to make if this new Miley Cryus video for “We Can’t Stop.” On one hand I am totally here for ratchet Miley as she is thoroughly entertaining. On the other hand this video is kind of a mess, the song is trite and she’s trying a bit too hard. But at least she’s being interesting. Check out the video!
It’s been a minute since Kanye has graced us with a solo project, seeming more inclined to do compilation projects, running into poles, and impregnating Kardashians. But he’s managed to find some time in his uber busy life to record a new album titled Yeezus. The album comes out on June 18th but thanks to the gods of foolishness and the internet, the album was made available online and after taking a listen, I thought I’d share my thoughts on the album.
Words cannot express how much I love The Civil Wars. Ever since they burst onto the scene with the wonderful pseudo Negro spiritual (in my mind)/morality tale Barton Hollow, I have been a moth draw to their flame. I own every album, including the unplugged session, so you know I was excited when they released their new track “The One That Got Away.” it is a quintessential Civil Wars song, from the beautiful orchestrations, stunning vocals and haunting lyrics. Check it out after the jump!
It seems like forever since we’ve heard anything from Nine Inch Nails despite numerous rumors of them getting back together and Trent Reznor’s great successes scoring films. But thankfully they’ve come back to grace us with some new music. Debuting on Youtube and EW, Came Back Haunted is the first song of their new album, Hesitation Marks, which will be released on September 3. On the 28th of September, they’ll kick off their new tour but till then check out the song!
Beyonce has been everywhere the past few weeks from those fake rumors about her pregnancy to her lead single Grown Woman leaking. Now she’s indulging her more ratchet side by joining with hit-maker The Dream and couthless rapper 2Chainz on ‘Turnt’. When I heard the snippet for this song two weeks ago, I instantly started body rolling and I am happy to report that the rest of the song lives up its potential. The single comes from The Dream’s new album IV play which is set to drop soon. Check it out after the jump!
