Lists are fun aren’t they? Regardless of who does them a list, particularly one based on quality, is sure to be an interesting read and one that challenges you to make your own judgements. It was recently brought to my attention that The AV Club made a top 100 films of the decade so far list and yall know I couldn’t let it go unanswered.
Clouds of Sils Maria is not the first film to comment on movies, theater, or the state of the entertainment industry, but I’m hard pressed to think of one that comes as ethereal as this film. There’s a breezy feeling that flows through the film, very much mimicking the cloud formation that winds through the mountain
Raucously entertaining and incredibly informing, Stuntmen/Stunt Actors of Your Favorite Movies was a welcome look into the world of stunts and just who the people are that take on the big tasks of making the big things look cool and feel safe.
Furious 7 is such a delightfully ridiculous action movie. I mean, though I have more to say about this movie, that line honestly could comprise the entirety of my review. This movie is such a fun thrill ride, with action scenes that will have you shouting “no way” and screaming “YAS! fuck him/her/them up!” while also providing a fitting send off for one of its beloved stars, Paul Walker.
Five. Ten. Sliding Scale. These are the terms folks in Awards blogosphere use to describe the Academy’s choices for Best Picture. The Academy recently had a meeting to decide upon what they want to go with and whatever they pick is sure to cause much discussion. I’ve been thinking about the concept of Best Picture a lot since the Academy expanded the field then went to this bs sliding scale.
