And THAT folks is how you end a season. While I have had many a issue with this fourth season of true blood, the finale gave me everything I wanted and more. So here is a brief recap of the top 10 things from the episode.

1. Jason finally telling Hoyt and getting the shit beat out of him. Then icing his wounds with a popsicle. Then sexing and having a cute convo with Jessica.
2.Immediately after said sexin and convo, Jason opening the door and seeing Steve Newlin (!) who gave him a lusty look (!!) and then bared his fangs (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
3. Arlene’s daughter dressed as a character from Teen Mom 2 for Halloween. HI-larious.
4. Terry getting a visit from a war buddy and Arlene getting a visit from Rene’s ghost warning her about said buddy.
5. Jessica running through the woods to Jason’s house like Little Red Riding Ho.
6. Bill and Eric teaming up to dispatch Nan and her “gay storm troopers”.
7. The fact that Debbie accidentally SHOT TARA IN THE HEAD! Talk about a game changer. i’ve been waiting for True Blood to really take some risks and kill of a main character but I did not see this coming.
8. Sookie’s retaliation and killing of Debbie. This was a mammoth storyline in the books and I can’t wait to see the Oscar winner navigate this especially because…
9. Alcide just made a play for her head instead of her heart (not often wise with Stackhouses). But even that wasn’t his biggest point of being on the episode as he was called to Shreveport to see that…
10. RUSSELL EDGINTON IS NO LONGER BURIED IN CONCRETE!!! SOMEONE DUG HIM UP!!! The ramifications….

Best Lines:

“You can’t trade magic like fucking Pokemon cards” – Jesus (Kevin Alejandro)
“I liked you better when you were brain damaged.” – Bill (Stephen Moyer)
“Hi Nan. And gay storm troopers.” – Eric (Alexander Skarsgard
“Missionary, then doggy, then her on top. I mean, it was nothin’ too kinky.” – Jason (Ryan Kwanten)

Episode MVP: This is a tough one, but I think the Stackhouses were fantastic (including Gran!)

Season 5 Thoughts
1. Russell is back and is going to reek HAVOC on the citizens of Bon Temps. But I wonder to what extent.
2. Steve Newlin is going to want more from Jason than just his blood. He had that “get it in” look when Jason answered the door. I also wonder who turned him…
3. What foolishness will Scott Foley bring that Rene of all people is warning Arlene about?
4. I hope to God almighty that Sookie at least sleeps with Alcide next season. Asking for a relationship between them is too much, but fucking should be ok right?
5. But that prob won’t happen cause Anna Paquin is gonna be tasked with some tough material in the “I killed Debbie” storyline.
6. Hopefully the mine the potential gold that is Bill and Eric actually being on the same side. They have such snarky bromantic energy, that MUST be exploited for our good!

And finally,

I fully expect all of the series regulars from the past season (except Jesus) to be in the first episode of Season 5 (Rutina Wesley who plays Tara is signed for the 5th season fyi). How much longer they stay is completely up to the writers lol.
