There are panels you attend and those you experience, and the Teen Wolf panel that took place in Ballroom 20 was definitely the latter. As an uber fan of this show and someone who spends hours out of the week discussing said show I was super excited for the panel, which honestly wasn’t as raucous or interesting as I thought it would be. In any matter, I am going to do my best to recap the panel from my tweets, the ridiculous shambles of my Twitter mentions. Here it goes!
Hey y’all, how’s it going? I’m currently in sunny San Diego taking in the sites and sounds of Comic-Con. So what better time than when I’m sleep deprived, running on a tight schedule, and hungry to stat a new series at the blog! Given that I’ve somehow managed to gain the public trust on Tumblr and people send me asks, I thought it would be easy to aggregate them there for people who don’t follow me there. Rare is it these days that you get a horror film that manages to elevate itself into being a great film. Sure there are those that are scary, and many are competently made. But every once in a while you get something that is the perfect combination of craft, scares, and spirit that you can’t help but acknowledge its greatness. The Conjuring, the new film by James Wan, is the first horror film in a long time that I’ve been so thoroughly entertained by every aspect that even when I was scared shitless I was in awe of just how well made of a film it was.
Television has certainly been in a golden age, with every matter of show and network stepping up their game to present complicated characters, interesting situations and dazzling visual work. The Emmy nominations are set to be announced tomorrow and many of the same shows that we know and love will show up. But instead of doing predictions, I thought it would be more fun to envision what I would vote for if I had an Emmy ballot. This is based on shows/tv movies/miniseries that ran from June 1,2012-May 31st 2013 to comply with the Emmy calendar. Check out my sample ballot!
Micah and I thought we had toughened up after the Red Wedding but Jeff Davis is a master manipulator and last night’s episode of Teen Wolf titled “Currents” has left the Demon Wolfcast in an extremely somber mood. We breakdown the episode including that devastating death, Mama McCall’s awesomeness and wonder about whether the narrative is serving the characters well.
