Read Time:8 Minute, 15 Second

The episode begins with a lady of the night sitting alone on a bench, she unwraps an apple and she sees that the newspaper she had the apple wrapped up with reads with a headline of Jack is Back and about the carnage. She starts hearing noises and she gets frightened, we see it’s a man that is lighting the street lights and passes her by as he gets farther away he gets snatched by someone. The lady is terrified and she sees someone coming near her we only see her face and she starts screaming then we see blood splatter on the newspaper headline and her ripped arm on the floor.

Ethan (Josh Hartnett) wakes up and looks like he is in pain from the previous night and looks hungover. He goes to a bar and asks for some whiskey and starts drinking. Victor (Harry Treadaway) is with his Monster (Alex Price) and is teaching him how to do things, he shows him how to eat and chew. Victor tells him that they should give him a name, he thinks of naming him Adam but decides against it and suggests that the Monster should choose his own name. Victor gets a Shakespeare book and is flipping through the pages shows his creation what to do and it lands on the name Proteus. Victor needs to leave and Proteus wants to go with him, but tells him to stay and Proteus is left alone.

We go back to Ethan who is still drinking and a woman (Billie Piper) sits next to him and grabs some of his whiskey and starts drinking it. He mentions that it’s nice to to meet her and she tells him the same thing. She introduces herself as Brona Croft and she starts coughing saying that her lungs are buggered, she leaves telling him that she’s off to look for work something that the machines can’t take over and then Ethan asks the barkeep if there are any rooms available.

Vanessa (Eva Green) is writing something when Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) walks in and tells her that their guest is here and that she needs to unbutton the top of her dress. Victor is their guest and all three head downstairs to where the body of the creature with all the hieroglyphics is and the skin has been removed by carrion beetles. Victor takes out blood from the body and after examining it confirms that it’s human blood. Vanessa and Victor are reciting some poetry and saying it’s ephemeral, he has to leave but before he tells Sir Malcolm to let him know if they find anything more about the hieroglyphics. When he leaves Sir Malcolm tells Vanessa what all that poetry was about and she tells him that their young doctor has a secret.

Brona goes to this house and she walks up to this man that is surrounded by all these paintings he turns to look at her and he greets her and introduces himself as Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney).

Sir Malcolm goes to visit the inspector and asks about the Spitalfield Murders that he wants to know more about them. The inspector tells him that whoever is behind this has taken arms and organs. Sir Malcolm asks which kind of organs and the inspector tells him the liver, kidneys, and reproductive matters. Then Sir Malcolm also asks if the bodies were drained of blood, but he tells him no. As he is about to leave he tells the inspector that next time this happens again that he will need to see the crime scene immediately. He tells the inspector, “You’re hunting for a man, you need to start hunting for a beast”.

Dorian and a photographer are taking photographs of Brona, she coughs up blood and Dorian asks her if it’s from the consumption and she says yes. He walks up to her and starts kissing her she tells him no because she is sick but that doesn’t stop him. They start having sexy times while the photographer is taking photographs of them doing the deed and Dorian tells Brona, “I’ve never f- a dying creature before, do you feel things more deeply? Do you feel pain” She tells him the same thing about him feeling pain and he tells her why doesn’t she find out and she scratches him hard on his back. As he is giving it to her (excuse my language) she coughs up blood on his face she tells him sorry, but he just seems to get off on that and continues kissing her.

Ethan gets a telegraph from his father, telling him that he should come back home that he can’t run away forever that he can handle his legal troubles. Victor is drawing Proteus, while Proteus is singing this sailor song, Victor shows him an illustration of a boat in this book and Proteus starts crying because he seems to recall something about the boat and a whale he sees.

Vanessa and Sir Malcolm arrive at a party that Mr. Lyle is throwing at his home, Sir Malcolm tells Vanessa to go mingle with people she listens and is walking around when everything goes silent in the room as she turns around she sees Dorian Gray. He walks up to her they have a conversation clearly Dorian is intrigued by her. Mr Lyle tells everyone that Madame Kali, the guest of honor has arrived and that they will need eight people to sit and join. Dorian wants to know what is happening and Vanessa tells him that they are going to commune with spirits. The seance begins and Madame Kali gets possessed by a spirit doing these vicious snarls saying who summoned me and also says that there is another one here she mentions Amunet, the serpent the hidden one. Vanessa gets possessed and she starts speaking in a low voice and then she starts talking in this little boy voice saying it’s Peter and that he loves his father and she’s looking at Sir Malcolm. She keeps saying things about if Sir Malcolm is proud of him she starts to sing a song and as Peter that he knew that he was dying and if Sir Malcolm will name a mountain for him, she exhales her last dying breath as Peter and Sir Malcolm is crying. Vanessa sits still and then she gets possessed by this woman saying how the Amunet girl is much older and starts talking in a demonic voice, she is saying so many explicit things during this whole possession and them finally she is saying, “Find Me, Save Me” yelling those words to Sir Malcolm over and over again she breaks the table and everyone is screaming and terrified at what is happening. After it is all over Vanessa just walks out in the rain bumps into this man on the street and starts having sex with him. We get a quick glimpse of Sir Malcolm sitting alone at the table and then back to Vanessa and that random guy and Dorian is seeing Vanessa screwing that guy outside in the rain. Sir Malcolm comes home, goes into Vanessa’s room she’s asleep and he covers her with a blanket and walks out.

Ethan sees that Brona has returned and asks her if she wants breakfast and by breakfast it’s alcohol she joins him and he invites her to dinner and also tells her, ” I like things to be the way they are” and she accepts his offer.

Sir Malcolm goes to see Mr. Lyle as he’s brought him more photographs of the hieroglyphics. Mr. Lyle is taking a look at them and sees one that is Amunet, the Hidden One that it’s a monster within her. He tells Sir Malcolm that he must forget all of this, and then he sees another photograph and he mentions he has never seen anything like this at all. He starts telling Sir Malcolm about the consort of Amun-Ra, that he was the original serpent price, that he had the power of rebirth the everlasting perpetual life sustained by feeding on the souls of others. Mr. Lyle tells Sir Malcolm that Amunet and Amun-Ra, never appear together in the stories that their narratives are always separate because if they ever came together Amunet would become the mother of evil all the light would end and the world would live in darkness that the hidden would emerge and rule conjoined fortelling the annihilation of man and the coming of the beast. Mr. Lyle also tells Sir Malcolm that he shouldn’t tell Vanessa this because who wants to know they are being hunted by the devil.

Victor and Proteus are going to go out for a walk, they go out and Proteus is frightened by everything that is around him, but Victor tells him to relax and he does. Proteus starts seeing everything and is amazed by it all. He sees a boat and walks near it and starts saying all the different parts of the boat like he is remembering everything from his life before his death and remembers that he had a wife too. He looks to Victor and tells him, “What am I?” to tell him, but get interrupted by Ethan and Brona and they introduce themselves to Proteus. Victor and Proteus return home and Victor is asking him questions about what they did outside and who they met all of a sudden a sharp stab goes right in the middle of Proteus and a hand is coming out through his chest and it cuts Proteus in half and a man appears from behind and tells Victor, “Your first born has returned father”

And end of the episode, man that last scene completely surprised me was not expecting that at all…so any thoughts or questions about tonight’s episode? You know what to do below.
