This week on Girls, Shosh comes back from Japan…but doesn’t seem that thrilled being back…Hannah and Fran continue having problems…Adam goes to see Laird, because he hasn’t heard from Caroline in a while. Marnie and Desi try to work together as a team for their music, but it doesn’t go as planned.
Shosh (Zosia Mamet) has returned back to New York looking glum after leaving Japan and someone runs into her and pushes their way through, she gets pissed because people here don’t have any manners and asks herself why she is here.
Hannah (Lena Dunham) and Fran (Jake Lacy) are on a roadtrip for the whole Summer and he is looking excited while Hannah is having doubts of spending 3 months together alone with Fran. They stop at a rest stop and Hannah goes into the restroom, while inside she texts Fran telling him that she wants him to leave and that she doesn’t want to go anymore…he calls her and heads his way to the restroom and there is this hilarious exchange between them of Fran trying to catch Hannah and she tells him that she doesn’t want to be in this relationship anymore, but doesn’t know how to get out of it. Finally they are outside and break up and he tells her that she is selfish…Fran wishes her a great summer and tells her to screw off and leaves angry. Hannah calls Marnie (Allison Williams) to see if she can pick her up…but she tells her she can’t because she’s recording with Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). Hannah calls Jessa (Jemima Kirke), but she doesn’t pick up.
Adam (Adam Driver) goes to visit Laird (Jon Glaser) and he tells him he hasn’t heard from Caroline in a while and wants to know what is going on…Laird tells him that Caroline went to go get Papitas three days ago and Adam looks concerned, because clearly Caroline has left her daughter and Laird.
Ray (Alex Karpovsky) picks up Hannah in his new coffee truck he purchased and she thanks him telling Ray that he is her truest and most loving friend she’s ever had, which Ray finds sad that she is saying that. She tells Ray if he thinks she did the right thing by breaking up with Fran and he tells her that she had to do what she thought was right…she gets down on her knees and proceeds to go down on Ray (why are you doing this Hannah?) he closes his eyes and swerves the truck right into a sign and the truck topples to the side.
Back at Laird’s, Adam and him continue trying to find out where Caroline might have gone…Adam finds a note under the fridge and hands it to Laird. It’s a note from Caroline, where she says that she has had dark thoughts of hurting their daughter and also herself so for everyone’s best interest her leaving is the best solution and tells Laird to take care of their daughter. The note hits Laird hard and tells Adam if he can watch his niece for a while and Adam says yes.
Hannah and Ray are trying to get off the truck. Ray pissed off tells her what the heck is she doing with her trying to blow him and that she really screwed him this time, because his truck cost him $50K and she tells him she wanted to thank him and tells him that he didn’t get hard and he tells her that he can call Marnie or Shosh, because he does get hard.
Adam is with his niece and he’s singing to her and Jessa arrives, she tells Adam that she went to two places and couldn’t find the formula for the baby so she brought milk, because it’s the same thing. Adam just can’t believe it and tells her that the baby can’t drink milk, because she can’t digest it. Jessa tells him that she will go back, but she sits down and complains how hot it is outside and Adam gets upset with her.
Shosh is having lunch at this sushi place and Scott (Jason Ritter) walks in and wants to know why she isn’t in Japan…she tells him that it was hard to emigrate and that now she is thinking of getting welfare. Scott just can’t believe it and tells Shosh that he is glad they broke up, because out of all of her unemployed and annoying friends she is the worst one of all and he leaves.
Ray gets off the phone with one of his friends and tells Hannah that help is on it’s way, but it’s going to take 4 or 5 hours for it to arrive. A car is passing by and Hannah hitchhikes a ride with this guy (hello Guillermo Diaz from Scandal)…Ray tells her not to get in, but she does and leaves Ray alone.
Adam and Jessa are with the baby and her phone rings and it’s Hannah and asks if her and Adam are screwing and Jessa tells her yes and Hannah hangs up. Jessa tells Adam that Hannah completely knows they are now a couple. Jessa looks flustered telling Adam that they did nothing wrong, but Adam stops her right there and tells her that he can’t think about Hannah right now because his sister is missing…has left her daughter and is having suicidal thoughts.
Marnie and Desi are recording one of their songs, but Desi stops the recording saying he needs to take five and then this woman comes and Desi goes over to kiss her and Marnie wants to know what is going on and who is this. Desi introduces Marnie to Tandance (hello Lisa Bonet) saying how she is gonna do the stage decor for their tour. Tandance wants to talk to Marnie saying how Desi told her she has a rage problem and also that Marnie needs to separate the music and her life with Desi…Marnie angry leaves.
Hannah looks in the backseat of Hector’s car and spots a gun and gets concerned she pretends that someone is calling her, but in reality she has called Marnie. She picks up and Marnie finds out this is a safety call and tells Hannah not to hang up the phone and that she needs to get off the car by saying she needs to use the bathroom…well that plan backfires, because Hector hands her this huge bottle and Hannah uses that.
Jessa is carrying the baby and then she throws up on Jessa…she’s grossed out and hands the baby to Adam telling him that he needs to help her, because the throw up is going down her back…Adam gets upset telling her that she is an adult and why does she need more help than a baby.
In car, Hannah asks Hector why he is moving to New York and he tells her that he was in an abusive relationship and that the needed to get away and broke up with his girlfriend, because she used to hit him with all sort of things and the final straw was his ex getting a gun and wanting to harm him. Hannah tells him how she also broke up with her boyfriend and also tells him about her ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend are screwing around together. They finally arrive to New York City and Hector is super excited to be there…telling Hannah that this is a good place to start over and Hannah agrees saying yeah with a smile on her face as the scene fades to black.
