Film School Files: For my Editing class this semester we were each tasked with editing film shot by a classmate. I was partnered with Christine and this is the final cut of my edit of her movie Nefarious Projections. As a horror fan, I was excited about this project and I really wanted to make it as creepy as possible.. It’s an interesting process editing someone else’s film cause you see the story differently. I cut out entire scenes from her script to make this cut, but as the editor I wanted to find the essence of her film. The sound editing is also a bit off but I’m still learning. Anyways I hope you enjoy!
Ladies and gentlemen, here it is, the culmination of a semester worth of work I am finally ready to unveil. Today’s Film School Files is dedicated to the debut of my Prod 500 short film Distractions on the Way to a Workout. A lot of time and effort went into this film and I’m both excited and scared to show the final* product to you guys. Jeremy, a young man in his 20s, has let himself go a bit. A month out of his high school reunion, he wants to tone up a bit to make a good impression and decides that he will work out every morning at 8 am. His house, however, is not really a fan of that and begins subtly trying to sabotage him. Will he accomplish his goal or will he continue to be stuck in his malaise? Check out the finished product and let me know what you think!
Documentaries are hard. That’s the basic lesson I learned when I created this film titled The Priest. That and I need to get more coverage than I think I do. I mentioned this project last week and I am happy to share the final product (although if you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you’ve prob seen the video). To be honest, I slightly hate this film. I mean it looks good and I managed to get some good shots, but I so wish I had a do over now that I sort of know what I was going for/have the music. But I think it’s good for me to be able to look things that I might think I did badly at and learn and grow. So without further ado, and with some extra fun at the bottom of the post, here’s The Priest.
Hello everyone! There’s been slow goings at the blog because of all the stuff that’s happening with film school. Speaking of, I wanted to tell you all about a project I’m helping produce! The film, directed by graduate student Ethan Speakman, is called Cute Girl Uncertainty Principle and it’s about a guy who uses quantum mechanics to make a girl fall in love with him. As a producer on this project you might think I’m being biased when I say it’s a great project to get involved in, but unequivocally it’s one of the best graduate thesis projects I’ve read and I’d love for everyone to contribute to help Ethan get his film off the ground. You can go directly to this link if you want to donate. Need more convincing? Check out the short video and full synopsis after the jump!
…how tired will I be by the time this first semester of film school is over? This is a question I pondered yesterday and if the past two weeks are any indication, I #minuswell get my casket ready. My goodness have things picked up and my free time has all but evaporated. Luckily I have the day off today to recuperate. But let me tell y’all a bit about my life so you can share in the wonders that is film school. Warning: Reading this may cause you to want to lay down and rest lol
Here is the first film I’ve directed in my production class! [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8Bi3Tf6z9A]
