“To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield” these are the words of the poet Alfred Lord Tennyson, who the episode is named after in the season premiere of Penny Dreadful. Last season, things were left off in a very desolate place with our characters disbanding and going their separate ways. We come back to find what some of these characters have been doing since we last saw them…and I think it’s safe to say that things aren’t well for them…we meet some new faces and that last scene in the premiere was just fantastic and I cannot wait to see how this new story unfolds.
If you follow me on social media, you’d have seen me post yesterday that I officially finished my thesis film The Debt Must Be Paid. I am overjoyed to make it to this point and figured I’d celebrate it (and actually do a post for the first time in weeks) by doing a fun post.
Season 5 of Girls has come to an end…Hannah finally goes back to her roots of doing something that she used to love…Marnie asks Ray something regarding her job…Shosh finds something she is good at, and is the Jessa & Adam relationship already doomed before it really begins? Let’s jump right in with the season finale.
This week on Girls, we got back to back episodes that led to the season finale. In this episode we see an old friend/nemesis from Hannah’s past that makes her realize some things…while Marnie also comes to a realization about a certain someone, Shosh helps Ray with his problems regarding Helvetica, and Elijah tries to get through Dill to make him see the light that monogamy can be a good thing. Also this episode was directed by Alex Karpovsky…our very own Ray.
This week’s On the Floor is one of the most interesting podcasts that we’ve done and we pack a lot into the 47 minute episode. Among the topics up for discussion are how boneheaded these supernatural shows are with stories and actors of color, why Nicole Beharie and Arden Cho were right to leave Sleepy
This week on Girls, Shosh comes back from Japan…but doesn’t seem that thrilled being back…Hannah and Fran continue having problems…Adam goes to see Laird, because he hasn’t heard from Caroline in a while. Marnie and Desi try to work together as a team for their music, but it doesn’t go as planned.
