Emmy Chatter: Best Movie and Miniseries

Welcome to my first Emmy Chatter post! Over the next few days I’ll be taking a look at the major category races, before wowing all of you will my final predictions on Friday. I won’t reveal just who I have picked, but with these posts I hope to enlightened everyone as to how I see the race. Let’s breakdown Best Movie and Miniseries, which has been split into two categories this year and as such has made predicting a bit easier.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: 2014 Creative Arts Emmys

Well the 2014 Creative Arts Emmys have come and gone and I honestly don’t know whether I learned anything or discovered anything new. However, i can’t say these awards weren’t fun to follow and talk about. But lawd they have me tired. Anyways, here’s some analysis. The Good -I did 35/77 in my predictions. And

2014 Creative Arts Emmys Predictions

I honestly don’t even know why I am doing these predictions for the Creative Arts Emmys as they are bar none the toughest group of nominees to whittle down. Nevermind the fact that this is crafted from a word doc that was 79 pages long (can the emmys please give us a simple doc with the nominees?), the crazy formatting I had to do, and everything that’s been going on in the country. Anyways, it was a fun distraction and really interesting to see what the TV Academy considers when it comes to technical excellence. Though I expect most of the big boys to finish first, it’s worth noting that at least the TV category nominates all types of genres and stories for its awards.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly: 2014 Emmy Nominations

I knew I was on to something when I decided to sleep in rather than get up at the crack of dawn to watch the Emmy nominations. I am just…like…let’s just dig right in to the fiasco that the nominations were. The Good -Newcomers such as Lena Headey and Lizzie Caplan on the Drama side.

2014 Emmy Nominations Predictions

The 2014 Emmy Nominations are right around the corner (July 10th to be exact) and lawd are we in for an interesting Emmy race this year. Anyone who knows me knows that I’ve watched a ton of TV (25 shows to be exact) but when it came time to do these predictions, stuff started getting

If I Had an Emmy Ballot…the Best of the 2013-2014 TV Season

Have you all had a chance to check out the Emmy ballots? You should have by now consdering they were released last week 🙂 Anyways, it has come time to discuss the best of TV in the 2013-2014 season, as my summer loves True Blood and Teen Wolf are going to start the new season off this coming week. When I think about what the 2013-2014 season gave to us, it’s pretty clear that the year was one of the broadest ranges of television viewers had to choose from. I think that I watched a grand total of 25 TV shows this year in their entirety (be that 22 or less episodes) which meant narrowing down the fields took forever. There are several shows such as The Good Wife or Veep that coasted to easy wins in their categories, but just as many areas that I had to really think about the choices. Category fraud also came into some play because though the Emmys might see it one way (ALL the maids in Devious Maids are lead?! True Detective as a drama series?) I was left with spaces to fill and harsh decisions to make.
