I Have Some Thoughts: The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Premiere

To make a terrible pun, The Vampire Diaries is a series that won’t die. No matter how ridiculous it gets or how many characters it shafts, the show is still highly rated and going on its 5th season. I honestly am not quite sure why I’m still watching the show, when I’ve left others for far less, but something about this cavalcade of vampires, witches, ghosts, werewolves and dopplegangers have become a staple of my Thursdays for the past five years. With that being said, I tuned into the season 5 premiere of the Vampire Diaries and I had some thoughts.

Top 10 Returning and New TV Shows I’m Excited For This Fall

Fall is a busy time for most people, but especially those who are invested in film and tv shows such as I. Hope springs eternally for the TV networks as they bring back their ratings hits and try and introduce new TV shows, hoping they will be hits as well. I took a gander at the 59+ show slate of fall premieres and decided to pick 10 new and returning tv shows that I’d be most excited to watch. Here’s the list!

Top 10 TV Shows (Fall 2012-Spring 2013)

Looking back on the season, not much really stood out in terms of appointment TV. Many returning shows like Revenge tried to expand too widely while new shows like The Mindy Project were very uneven. This all led to a Fall/Spring season that while enjoyable, was rarely the remarkable thing we expect from TV these days. But luckily there were some shows that managed to stay above the fray. Peep my top 10 from the Fall/Spring season!
