Television has certainly been in a golden age, with every matter of show and network stepping up their game to present complicated characters, interesting situations and dazzling visual work. The Emmy nominations are set to be announced tomorrow and many of the same shows that we know and love will show up. But instead of doing predictions, I thought it would be more fun to envision what I would vote for if I had an Emmy ballot. This is based on shows/tv movies/miniseries that ran from June 1,2012-May 31st 2013 to comply with the Emmy calendar. Check out my sample ballot!
I have finally screened all the movies that I think I can stomach from 2012. Though I have missed a few high profile titles, I have finalized the list of the worst films of the past year. Please note that several films that probably warrant placement on this list are not here because I would not subject my eyes to them. This would include stuff like Battleship, Dark Shadows, Red Tails, etc. Anyways, hope you enjoy reading this list!
Ah television, my 2nd favorite way to waste my life. To say I watch a lot of TV would probably be the understatement of the century, so making these lists were actually quite difficult. Given this year’s lack luster list of returning comedies, I wanted to include new shows. But due to the immense volume of shows being considered, I had to bite the bullet and make 3 categories: drama, comedy, and new series.
Well 2012 is coming to a close. It’s been an interesting year for me personally, as well as professionally. But now that we are in the home stretch, figured it was time to begin my end of the year superlatives. Let the Tomas Experience Awards commence! Today’s awards focus on the top 10 albums of the year, which were far more of a struggle to put together than I thought they would be. Shockingly, this year was kind of underwhelming in terms of albums released. There were plenty of great singles but not a lot of fantastic albums. But regardless, there were some that stood head and shoulders above the rest, which we will dive into now.
