On Girls tonight, we see that Hannah is still trying to adjust to Iowa and from the looks of it she is not happy as she originally was when she was first accepted to grad school. I really enjoyed the scenes with Jessa this week, because I feel that we really don’t get to see much of this character and in this episode we saw clearly how broken and lonely she is…that scene towards the end with Adam was emotional because it shows that she is desperate for some companionship regardless of how tough she acts.

Hannah (Lena Dunham) is video chatting with Jessa (Jemima Kirke) and is telling her that she only has class once a week and after that she has all the time in the world. Elijah (Andrew Rannells) is telling Hannah if they are still on for the poet party and she tells him yes. Hannah continues talking while Jessa is moving around her apartment and asks Hannah how her writing is going in and Hannah tells her that she is in her pre-writing phase. Jessa mentions that she’s going to her AA meeting and Hannah tells her if she has heard about Adam and how he is doing…Jessa moons Hannah in their video chat.

Marnie (Allison Williams) is at Ray’s (Alex Karpovsky) apartment and she is talking to him about Desi and their relationship, explaining to Ray that she is not a mistress and Ray proceeds to correct her that she is totally the mistress and that this thing she has with Desi is complete bullshit and that he shouldn’t be trusted that he’s a Svengali…someone who likes his cake and wants to eat it too. Ray tells Marnie that she shouldn’t be with Desi, because she shouldn’t be treated that way and also he hasn’t chosen her when he is still with Clementine. Marnie kisses Ray and gets on top of him and tells him if this is okay, which Ray is fine with.

Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) is at a job interview and the lady that is conducting the interview is saying if she is okay with allocating trending jewelery and also talking about cardigans…she tells Shosh that she likes her and still can’t give her the job yet because she needs to interview more people but if she wants the job that she has it right now…Shosh tells her she can’t accept the job because this is like a trial interview for her and what she wants to do is something that she is deeply passionate about and she leaves.

Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Marnie are at a meeting with some people and they are listening to one of their songs and are completely digging it, once the song is over they tell them that once their boss Marcos returns that they will start talking about getting the song aired, but first they ask them how this collaboration started and how long they have been together. Desi tells them that they are not together and that he actually has a girlfriend and the people from the meeting are surprised hearing this news…Marnie seems upset and suddenly the whole meeting gets awkward.

Adam (Adam Driver) and Jessa are at their AA meeting just making small talk and he’s mentioning Hannah and how she always loves to talk about random crap and then this guy comes over to Jessa saying if they can meet later on, but Jessa just turns him down and explains to Adam that she had kissed him last time and that he was enamored by her.

After their meeting Marnie and Desi are arguing, he’s telling her that he doesn’t recognize her at all and what’s wrong…Marnie tells him exactly what is wrong she tells Desi that this thing they have going on is not working especially if they are going to have a musical future together and also why does he have a girlfriend that isn’t her…Desi tells her that since the beginning he had made it clear to her about their relationship and that she has to explore and embrace her freedom and Marnie tells him that she knows what she wants, but he is not offering it to her.

Jessa and Adam are walking and she’s telling him that her sober birthday is coming up and that she wants to do something to celebrate, but that she will probably celebrate it alone at Chuck E. Cheese and Adam tells her that he’s in if she wants to celebrate and Jessa gets happy. Jessa tells Adam to hold her bag because she has to pee and Adam is surprised that she is just going to pee in public as she is the cops spot her and give her a ticket…she rips it up and they arrest her…Adam sees that the cop is being rough with her and goes over saying to stop because they are hurting her and they arrest him too.

Hannah arrives at the poet party, she joins Elijah and she just seems bored she tells him that she thinks she has mono because she isn’t feeling good and Elijah mentions that she’s had mono for the fifth time they talk about her writing for a bit while he is taking all these photos of people at the party. Hannah tells him that she is not comfortable with her classmates being here and Elijah tells her that she is just uncomfortable in her own skin. Hannah tells him that she knows that she has all this writing to do, but all she wants to do is google the one month Woody Harrelson and Glenn Close were a couple. Elijah tries to comfort her saying that nobody likes what they do and that everything will work out the way it should.

Ray gets a call and is surprised at what they are telling over the phone…yelling out “Both of you!”

Hannah is with her group of classmates from her writing workshop and talking about every one of them telling them their faults and how she feels about them and that they should all be honest with each other and after she says her peace everyone is just looking at her and she leaves.

Ray walks out with Jessa and Adam from the police station and he is mad at both of them for what happened calling them a pair of barbarians that this is not something they are supposed to be doing and that they owe him three grand and leaves. Jessa then is playfully telling Adam that she hates the cops and Adam tells her to grow up saying that she’s a bad influence and that she is a f-ing manipulative person that he would always see that she would do the same thing with Hannah and as Adam walks away he tells Jessa that he doesn’t need anymore friends. Jessa calls after him and gets super emotional saying that she needs Adam to be her friend.

Hannah leaves the party and we see her on a buggy with an Amish person giving her a ride and that’s it folks end of the episode.

  1. With all due respect that was a horrible recap , actually it wasn’t even a recap , it was a blow by blow description of the ep. No insight no input , nothin

    1. I’d argue that this is technically a recap by definition lol what would you like to see in these Girls recaps? We’re open to changing the format to something readers would prefer if something isn’t working
