Teen Wolf Recap: 3.10 “The Overlooked”

Sometimes when you reach the highest of highs like Teen Wolf did last week, you’re bound to come back to the ground. “The Overlooked” is an episode of Teen Wolf that should have been tailor made for me and yet I was not impressed in the least bit. Yet another short recap (yes I know but I’m moving!) but here are my thoughts on the episode.

-Mama McCall dominated the hell out of this episode and I am here for it. Bout time they got the adults involved.
-Haley Webb and Felicia Terrell are bad ass bishes and I love the story behind their two characters.
-Dylan O’Brien keeps getting these scenes where he can show off his skills of being able to cry a single tear.
-Is Stora (Stiles and Cora) going to be an actual thing now? Cause idk how I really feel about that. It was fun and sexy two weeks ago but this episode I didn’t feel the spark. Prob cause Cora was dying.
-Speaking of showing off, what was with Peter’s wardrobe tonight? lmao that v was cut so low it #minuswell have been a cardigan.
-Also, this:

-Derek cannot, has not, and will not catch a break or win a fight. Did someone named Derek hurt Jeff in a past life? My goodness Derek is just a flop. Like it’s gotten so bad he actually ran away from a fight this episode. Unbelievable. I don’t even care that he’s lost every fight AT LEAST HE’S FIGHTING. Ugh just fuck it.
-Isaac is trying to sex everyone up and I don’t mind at all.
-I love any episode that squishes a large group of people in a single place then places obstacles in their way that seem insurmountable so that portion was good…
-However if you have to give us 20 minutes worth of monologuing to explain all the shit you’ve been keeping us in the dark about and there are only two episodes left…
-And you once again isolate Derek and Jennifer in a space while bad shit is happening to the other characters. That just is either iritating or snoozeville and I can’t take it anymore.
-Like why did we sit through that 5 minute speech about mistletoe only to transition to Jennifer/Julia talking about wolves losing their power on the lunar eclipse? That shit had nothing to do with the price of tea in China and I don’t get why we are being spoonfed everything now.
-I want to know how everyone and their damn mama is throwing up mistletoe…are they putting that shit in the water supply??? Does it only get fed to the overlooked?
-That lunar eclipse thing is interesting. I know a ton of people have wondered what it’d be like if the wolves turned back human, especially Derek being human for a day, and it looks like you’ll get your wish.
-The ep was made by the following tweet:

No one live-Tweets #TeenWolf episodes like @LeNoirAuteur. As long as he says “Jesus take the wheel,” I know the show was a success.

I dunno … I thought this was way better than last week’s episode that was pretty scattered until some good reveals near the end. Think the show does best when it isolates characters in one locale (Motel Hell, that rave in Season 2).

I am all here for Ms. Blake and I kept waiting for her to kick out some magic tree voodoo fairy shit and rip all of the werewolves’ faces off. Mama McCall is a BAMF. Had my fingers crossed for Cora Queen of Scots to die. New fic idea: Peter Hale and Chris Argent competing to see who can rescue Sheriff Stilinski first. That’s a love triangle we can all agree on.

P.S. I like that this episode made it clear that this is all Derek’s fault. FLOP FLOP FLOPPIN’ AROUND LIKE A GOLDFISH OUTTA WATER.

I thought that the set up of the episode was great and there were some good elements (finally more Peter) but it didn’t pay off like it could have.

And you put that Cora shade away! I like Cora and I don’t think I could take another Hale dying on Derek…they #minuswell just kill that character.

      Also, LOVE the fic idea.

Kill Derek? Don’t get my hopes up!

Yeah, I pretty much agree with you 100%. I’m roughly 85% sure that nothing’s going to happen between Stiles and Cora. I had issues with that scene that had nothing to do with the shipping aspect of it. I read a post on Tumblr earlier today that convinced me that, while I still think the scene itself was done incorrectly, I shouldn’t worry about it in a long-term sense.

Have you watched the preview for next week? I’m assuming you will by the time you do your podcast. I can’t wait to hear you and Micah go in-depth about both that and the episode!

considering that the actress who pays Cora won’t be in 3B I don’t think we have too much to worry about with Stora. It’s just weird they kinda are making it a thing.

And Micah and I will talk about the promo on the new episode
