Oscar Prediction Update: Into the Interstellar Boyhood?

Oscar predicting is going to start to get serious (for some) soon and given the summer’s slate of movies, that is possibly a good thing. Anyways, here’s some analysis and predixs!

-First off, it seems that Suite francaise is completely off the table which means that The Imitation Game  will be the Weinstein pony which could mean a whole host of things. As currently constructed, idk what this film is going to body out of the way in its quest for nominations. Keira Knightley certainly looks to benefit from an opening in supporting actress, but will Cumberbatch be able to leap over the many folks sure to be in his way?

-Did you all see teaser trailers for Into the Woods and Interstellar? I’m not watching anything relating to Interstellar other than the movie to remain spoiler free but I watched the one for Into the Woods and though I have been fooled by Rob Marshall before, it looked really great. And those photos! For now it’s bumping out films like Inherent Vice and taking the spot of Suite francaise.

-In other news, Boyhood apparently has over 40 perfect scores on Metacritic which is astounding, given that critics tend to be loathe to agree about anything. It certainly has the quality to do well come awards time, but it is also just August and bigger movies are coming down the pike.
