Top 10 Films of 2013

Out of all the years I’ve been covering film, 2013 certainly ranks near the top of film years that make it hard to craft a top 10. There were so many different permutations of this top 10 list that I had to walk away from the computer for five minutes to regroup. However, I think that the battle was well worth it as the 10 films I selected accurately reflect the films that really spoke to me this year.

Golden Globe Predictions

This Sunday the first major award show, The Golden Globes, is set to air and will give us our first true look at what the awards season might bare out. With Oscar nomination being announced on Thursday, the Globes might be the first place to convince people to put you down to win the big prize. So who will win at the Globes? I took a look at the nominations and offered some predictions and analysis.

The National Board of Review is one of the oldest awards bodies and today they unveiled their nominees for 2013 film awards. Her, the newest Spike Jonze film about a man who falls in love with an operating system, was named the best film of the year, along with picking up Best Director. The nominees were really interesting so let’s dig in!

My my my has the Oscar landscape shifted in the two weeks since I last updated my Oscar predictions. The race is really starting to take shape and it looks like it will be an exciting few months as films vying for the crown. Let’s dig into the predictions then, shall we?
