Sometimes I wonder just what networks think when they schedule their shows or choose to stick behind certain ones. Fox, the network currently enjoying a high ratings filled Fall season, is one network I usually trust to make sound judgements. So color me surprised that the network would banish the midseason comedy Enlisted to Fridays. After watching the hilarious pilot, I’m hoping that the network goes all out with the promo because the could have a sleeper hit on their hands.
It was about time HBO decided to let us know when my beloved Game of Thrones would come back. At TCA’s today the cable network announced that the show will return on April 6, the same night as their other wonderful series Veep and new show Silicon Valley. Should make for a heck of a night. The network will also premiere the trailer for Game of Thrones this Sunday at 8:55 pm before HBO miniseries True Detective. Peep the press release.
You guys, can it be Feb 14 so I can get this new season of House of Cards? The 2nd trailer just released today is so, so good and I need this series to binge watch right now. Here’s the synopsis of the foolery we are in store for: Francis (Kevin Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright) Underwood continue their ruthless rise to power as threats mount on all fronts. Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara), an up-and-coming reporter and Francis’s former paramour, is inching closer to the truth about his crimes. President Walker’s (Michel Gill) billionaire confidante Raymond Tusk (Gerald McRaney) demands that Francis reciprocate political favors or face retribution. And Claire must confront the increasing glare of the spotlight as it eats away at her and Francis’s once private existence. Watch the awesome trailer after the jump!
This is a big week for television in that so many of the best shows on TV and the ones with the biggest fantoms return to grace our screen and take over our lives. I am happy that The Good Wife, Teen Wolf, and Being Mary Jane will be back. Here’s a list of the big premieres that are happening this week.
Have you all recovered from your New Years partying? If you’re like me, the new year couldn’t come soon enough as many of my favorite shows are coming back on air! With that, I have created a handy dandy premiere schedule that you can view here so you can keep track of everything. However, I figured I’d take the time to highlight some of the shows I’m looking forward to this TV season.
Ah television, the (almost) love of my life. I have spent so much time over the course of my years watching television and this year was no exception. Making this post however was actually quite a struggle given that I’ve actually shaved down the amount of TV I watch since I got to grad school. That and the fact that during the summer, there was only one show worth watching (The Fall) and I caught that way back in May. Anyways, I did manage to come up with a Top 10 TV shows of the season so far list that doesn’t suck so here it is.
