Synopsis:

Review: In order to allow for others to see the film, I thought this was one of the strongest entries in the X-Men series (probably 2nd place behind X2). The direction and script were great and the acting was fantastic. James McCavoy and Michael Fessbender as the two leads were so great, but their performances were supplemented greatly by the supporting cast. I LOVED all of the nods to the original trilogy especially the cameos. I like this trend of period superhero films, the 60s setting was great and lead to some fantastic moments involving the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Unsung Hero: Cinematography and Casting

Look at the shot below. I mean my goodness, this film was a feast for the eyes in terms of special effects and gorgeous actors, but the camera movements and choices by the cinematographer were aces.

This cast…omg…I’d do everyone in this movie, at the same time. It’s like they thought of me when casting it! Michael Fessbender, James McAvoy, January Jones (!), Jennifer Lawrence, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Holt, even Lucas Till proved he could act! The casting director deserves a raise.

Favorite Scene:
Aside from the entire movie? I think my favorite scene was when Charles challenged Eric to move the satellite in their direction. When he access’ Eric mind to find the happy memory, I almost died of cinematic bliss. The acting in this scene was both heartbreaking (both men cried) and joyous (he moved the satellite!) LOVED this scene
