Tumblr Thursday: Derek’s Alpha Status, Stydia and Other Ramblings

Hey y’all, how’s it going? I’m currently in sunny San Diego taking in the sites and sounds of Comic-Con. So what better time than when I’m sleep deprived, running on a tight schedule, and hungry to stat a new series at the blog! Given that I’ve somehow managed to gain the public trust on Tumblr and people send me asks, I thought it would be easy to aggregate them there for people who don’t follow me there. Although you totally should follow me at lenoirauteur.tumblr.com cause it’s where my inner foolishness comes out. Anyways, this week’s asks cover a possible plot of Derek losing his alpha status, Stydia, and other ramblings. Take a gander!

I always dig your Teen Wolf speculation, so, with Holland teasing a love triangle, will-they-wont-they tension between Stiles/Lydia, and a big moment that the fans will love, do you think we’ll be seeing a legitimate Stydia romance in season 3b? – Anonymous

I hope not. LOL I remember when I watched the Hollywood Reporter video I got so mad at the mere thought of a love triangle involving lydia/stiles/aiden. I’m really enjoying the friendship and alliance they have this season and wouldn’t like it to change so quickly, if at all. Also, I kinda feel like it would send the wrong message to people if Stiles all of a sudden becomes awesome and wins Lydia or if Lydia dumps Aiden, realizes what she lost with Stiles and tries to hop on his D.

So I guess this is a longwinded way of saying no? lol I do think that Stiles will have a “love interest/romance” with someone in 3B tho…just not Lydia

I do not know how to deal with all this, did u watch the aftershow on teen wolf? If so can you try to explain to me how hayley Webb said that her character loves Derek already with only like 4 mins of on screen time because I am at a loss. – a-shipper-of-many

Whew that Aftershow was kind of a mess wasn’t? I did indeed watch it and while I thoroughly enjoyed the meta-ness of Haley Webb and Jill Wagner talking to each other, I have to say that I HATED the answers Haley gave to those love questions. HATE HATE HATE. I am baffled at how any one thinks there is love there given they’ve had 4-6 scenes in 7 episodes. It was especially awful to hear Haley say those things because I believe that she’s lying, which wouldn’t be an awful thing considering they don’t want to give away the shows details, but she did it so boldly that I am kinda not here for her anymore?

Like to me, there are ways to talk around these things. She could have said Ms. Blake cares for Derek for some unknown reason or that she just doesn’t want to see anyone hurt. She could have also answered the 2nd question regarding the sex scene and why that came about by mentioning that maybe, in that moment, her character thought they both needed a release.

Dang this has got pretty long winded but yeah. I just want to know what Ms. Blake’s purpose on the show is sooner rather than later

Even if that girl is Jennifer in my mind there has to be a reason why she didn’t remember Derek but Derek being Derek choose to do his thang and in the end that could cost Jennifer her life cause we all know Derek can’t have nice things. – Anonymous

There are already some interesting theories going around about her possibly having her mind wiped by an alpha (maybe Talia?) and I have said since episode 1 that she has had some dealing with the supernatural before.

WIth regards to Derek, he has been making some trash decisions lately but I have a feeling they won’t kill off Jennifer to hurt him. I think they are gonna give us a great reveal about her and it’s gonna inspire derek to get off his ass and do something about it.

And finally, have you all been following this recent theory that Derek could lose his alpha status? I generally stay out of replying to people’s blog posts on their theories but whew Lord I cannot stay silent on this plot cause I am not here for it in any iteration. So by stripping him of the alpha status that would be yet another case of the show just beating up on Derek. What I hope will happen is that Jeff and the writers will create situations in these final 5 episodes where Derek makes small decisions that work out and moral choices that uplift others. THAT’S where his salvation can come from. Not from losing status or finding love, but by dealing with the guilt and the muck and pressing on anyway.
