So have you all recovered from last night’s Emmy awards? I have finally made it back to the land of the living and I have some thoughts.
The Good
-JULIANNA MARGULIES WON BEST ACTRESS TAKE THAT BITCHES! I’m sorry for the language, but this win made me so happy. Yes it was aided by Robin Wright’s horrific Emmy submission tape but The Good Wife was on fire this season and deserved a big win here.
-The Normal Heart beats Sherlock for best TV movie.
-Cary Fukanaga wins Best Directing for a category his show shouldn’t be competing in Drama Series. I have been staining for this dude since I saw Sin Nombre and I’m happy to see him realize some success. I am NOT here however for all you thirsty bitches coming after him lmao
-Breaking Bad riding off into the sun with 6 Emmys.
The Bad
-Orange is the New Black and Veep losing Comedy Series, if only because it furthers the stat that only one non-broadcast show has EVER won an Emmy for Best Comedy Series.
-The show, which I only caught the last 2 hours of felt so damn long and boring. All the jokes about [insert celebrity] who was on TV and was never heard from are so tired.
The Ugly
-Modern Family winning comedy series. Like I just don’t know what shows these voters are watching because I doubt a single episode of Modern Family had the amount of laughs a single moment from Veep did.
-So let me understand something. The Normal Heart, which according to the TV Academy was the best movie wasn’t good enough to win any acting, writing or directing prizes? HOW THE FUCK DID SHERLOCK WIN SO MANY GOT DAMN AWARDS?!
-My Emmy predictions. I don’t even want to determine the percentage I got wrong but I know it was a lot.
-The Sofia Vergara moment, which prompted me to tweet this
Hollywood: “Hollywood isn’t sexist” *puts sofia on a literal pedestal and spins her around like a car*
