Calling all horror fans and film buffs! The Pull of the Moon is an exciting project breaking new ground in the horror genre!
For those of you who have been following this website for a while or me on any social network, you know that in addition to my life on the interwebs, that I am also a filmmaker currently enrolled in a MFA program at Loyola Maymount. This October, I am shooting a short film called The Pull of the Moon.
I am really excited about this project, as getting to shoot a horror film was one of my goals entering film school. This script has been one I have fought for every step of the way, trying to craft a story that was both action packed and emotionally resonant. Being able to shed new light on an old myth is a lot of fun, but I’m just as excited about being able to do this character study of Jonathan and Xavier’s relationship. There’s been a lot of talk of representation in horror and the need for diverse stories, and I’m really happy to be working on a short film I feel can address those areas and show the viability of that type of subject matter.
I just launched my indiegogo campaign yesterday and I’ll be updating my progress the further I get into the film’s production and campaign, but for now you can check out my campaign video and page to contribute. Even if you can’t give money, just sharing the project via social networks or email can go a long way to getting this project made.
Thanks for your support along this journey!
