It’s been a while since I’ve done a post like this but since I have more time on my hands I thought it might be fun to start linking to cool stories or pieces that I have read/written elsewhere. This will be a mix of tv, movies, and other stuff I’m interested in during the week.
Awards Circuit Power Hour tackled the question of separating art from the artists and it was an interesting convo. As you can see in the comments I disagreed with their approach.
The Hollywood Reporter has released their TV actress roundtable and its wonderful conversation. I love all of the actresses featured, so hearing them speak about their experiences was cool.
Vulture meanwhile has a fascinating look at the concept of Peak TV. As someone who wants to go into the industry, I found this incredibly informative, particularly in its highlighting of the differences between broadcast, cable, and streaming deal structures.
Do you love reading/YA Books? If so Buzzfeed has a wonderful list of YA Books you should read this summer. I definitely want to check out Six of Crows and The Ghosts of Heaven.
Speaking of reading, one of my favorite blog series currently going is My New Plaid Pants ode to Great Moments in Movie Shelves. Having recently organized my own bookshelf, it’s fun to see how the pros do it.
There have been several hashtags that have popped up on Twitter that have made me howl (like #BlackPantherSoLit). Blavity has the run down on the hilarious YA with Soul hashtag. Black Twitter never ceases to amaze.
Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples has succubmed to peak off season and has dreamed up a NCAA football realignment proposal. As a GT grad and fan of college football overall, I like his idea of realignment although the ACC would NEVER allow West Virginia in. They didn’t even get a bid the last time we needed an extra team cause the conference wants academically minded schools.
Finally, Grey Worm actor Raleigh Ritchie chronicled a day in his life, and it was awesome.
