Another week in America, another raggedy situation (multiple in fact). But rather than focus on the negatives, I wanted to share some reads that can provide some welcome distraction for stuff happening in the world.
If you’re like me and you watch TV/a movie and wonder, “what’s the song playing?” well TuneFind has got you covered. It’s a great site that tracks the songs that play during episodes of TV. You can use it to curate a Spotify list if you want. Note to self: get back on the Sense8 one you started.
Angels in America is one of the best pieces of art, let alone theater, to ever be created and Slate has an extremely comprehensive oral history of the work with many of the people who were intimately involved. I had no idea it bankrupted a San Francisco theater company on the way to being a smash hit!
I can’t believe I hadn’t featured this before but a collective of artists created a gorgeous set of art for the Hamilton cast and they posted it online so we could see! My top 3 are: “You’ll Be Back”, “A Winter’s Ball”, and “The Reynolds Pamphlet”
Speaking of art, I have been doing research for a future project and stumbled across this list of best graphic novel covers. Such a marvelous selection (LOVE the Batwoman #5)
On a completely foolish note, I recently went to the dentist and watched Food Network while getting my teeth cleaned (ironic). Naturally I discovered a new show called Pioneer Woman and I’ve been dying to try to make her recipes. The one that sold me on her was this Pots de Creme one that will be first on the docket.
