Girls starts with Hannah (Lena Dunham) and Adam (Adam Driver) having sex and after they are done, Adam gets up and starts getting dressed up and tells Hannah that he has to leave and she doesn’t want him to go, but he tells her that he needs to go because he has to do this vocal exercises and Hannah tells him that she is proud of him, he leaves and Hannah is left wondering and doubting their relationship and what is going to happen.

At Ray’s apartment, Adam is practicing his lines for Major Barbara and Ray (Alex Karpovsky) is helping him with his lines while he is working on something else. There’s a knock on the door and surprise it’s Hannah telling them that she couldn’t sleep and that since she was around the area decided to come. Ray tells both, “Please be expressive, but keep it down” Hannah starts explaining to Adam that she came over because she had a horrible realization that Ray didn’t have any bananas and that she knows that Adam likes them and he asks her where are the bananas then. Adam tells her that she needs to relax about this whole situation and Hannah tells him that she feels like he is leaving her in slow motion. Adam reassures her that he is not leaving her, he tells her that everything is going to be fine while taking her back home in a taxi.

Marnie (Allison Williams) is at the gallery with Soo Jin (Greta Lee), and they are with an artist called Beedie (Louise Lasser) and they are installing her work, Soo Jin leaves and Marnie starts talking to Beedie about her art and how she loved it when she was studying at Oberlin.

Back at Hannah’s apartment she asks Elijah (Andrew Rannells), if he is coming with her to Marnie’s open-mic thing and he doesn’t want to go she mentions to him that she has to fix her Patti LuPone interview for her job because the last time all they talked about was the theater and why you shouldn’t screw actors and that they talked nothing about bone density for Strenova. Elijah finds out about Patti and immediately wants to go with her, she tells him okay and Elijah is over the moon, and that he wants to meet Corky’s mom (OMG Elijah).

Marnie and Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) are singing and practicing their song that they both wrote together and they are so pumped that they collaborated on this and then Desi mentions that he saw her YouTube video and that he felt uncomfortable.

Jessa (Jemima Kirke) is dancing to music and in walks Shosh (Zosia Mamet) saying that she had an exhausting day and is tired. She sees Jessa dancing and tells her how she is doing because she is off drugs and going cold turkey, Jessa tells her cousin that she is fine and when Shosh leaves…Jessa breaks down on the floor and says that it is so hard to be off drugs.

Hannah and Elijah arrive at Patti’s and are knocking on her door when she opens the door and hugs Hannah and Elijah is just star struck with Patti. They are having small talk Elijah mentions that it’s such an honor to meet her and that him and Hannah are underdogs, but Patti tells him, “You look like a f’ing Kennedy” out comes Patti’s husband, Peter (Reed Birney) with the food and all Hannah wants to do is get to the interview and get Patti to talk about Strenova.

Adam is the tub talking to Ray, who is shaving in the bathroom and he’s telling Ray about Hannah and what’s been going on and Ray then tells Adam that he had been seeing a girl that was amazing (of course he’s talking about Marnie) and how even though she was gorgeous that he had to put his foot down because there was just something that wasn’t working. Adam is telling him that he really loves his old place and misses it (hmm Adam).

Back to Patti’s where Peter is talking about how he used to be a writer and that all that changed when he got with Patti, that he became the second wheel in the relationship and that even still today he gets called, “Mr. LuPone”, and this makes Hannah worry about her relationship with Adam.

Hannah is at work with her co-workers and all of them are with their boss pitching ideas and then Hannah is upset because of what has been happening lately and that she expected more from this life. She’s gets fired by her boss because of the way Hannah is acting but tells Janice that she quits.

Marnie is with Beedie at the gallery and they are still trying to decide with one of the art pieces that the artist still hasn’t decided on if she wants it up. In comes Jessa and tells Beddie that the art piece with the bald guy is not working. Beedie offers Jessa a job to do archival work for her and Jessa agrees and then Beedie tells Jessa, “You are not a junkie thief?” Jessa argues to work for her.

Open-mic night, and Marnie is super nervous about the whole thing, but then Desi tells her that everything will be fine and she also mentions she’s feeling that way because she feels that there is something else going between them and he proceeds to tell her he has a girlfriend. Elijah is telling Hannah that “This is going to be a real crap show” and then yells “We love you, Marnie!” (Freaking Elijah) Marnie and Desi perform their song together and then after it’s over everyone is telling her that she was great and lovely. In comes Desi’s girlfriend, Clementine (Natalie Morales) and kisses him and the whole situation becomes a bit awkward. Next scene is Ray is in his apartment and Marnie comes in walking towards him and kissing him and that wants to have sex with him.

Hannah and Adam are having drinks with Desi and Clementine along with the other cast members of Major Barbara and we can see that Hannah is not impressed and all of a sudden she tells everyone that she got fired today, but that she actually quit… that it was intentionally so she could get unemployment. After they leave Hannah and Adam go back to Ray’s place and she’s asking him that once opening week happens that he’s coming back to their apartment but he’s not quite sure that is going to happen and he starts wanting to fool around with Hannah, but both hear some moaning happening at Ray’s room and Hannah gets up to see who is and Adam tells her that it is none of her business and Hannah responds by saying that everything is her business. Hannah opens the door and sees Marnie and Ray having sex and Hannah screams and says, “Are you freaking kidding me?” Marnie says, “He made me” and Ray is all like huh? and then Hannah tells Marnie that “You will never judge me again ever” and closes the door.
