So how about those Oscar nominations? The Academy is always good for some good things and some foolery. Anyways every year, I try to put myself in the mind of an Academy voter and think about what I would consider on my Oscars ballot. I spread the love around, with 35 films being nominated in 20 traditional categories. As is expected of a #1 film, Burning took home a whopping 7 wins including Best Picture. It’s always interesting to make this list because it can reveal things to you. I have cooled considerably on Hereditary since I saw it, but it still racked up six nominations. Conversely, a movie I really enjoyed, Widows, found itself in only three categories. Anyways that’s enough talking, let’s get to the noms and winners!
