I’m not feeling terribly chatty about this film so why don’t we just dive in. Here’s the trailer for The Bourne Legacy.
Yes:
-the cast is great and there are some surprise new additions (Donna Murphy! Edward Norton!)
-this trailer hits on some of the old beats (how the spies are trained) while managing to show new footage
-that slide bar animation is pretty cool
-Jeremy Renner excels in action and has a great physical presence
No:
-A fourth Bourne film?
-Jeremy Renner fatigue…is there a franchise he’s NOT starring in right now?
-the dialog feels…flat. Maybe it’s because its just a trailer but the line delivery seems wooden
-Since Donna Murphy is in this, will there be a musical number? No? oh ok…well that’s a downer lol
Maybe So:
-those other Bourne films were pretty good and this seems to have the same DNA
This trailer is fantastically energetic but maybe it’s just franchise fatigue; I’m not terribly excited for this movie.
