In the clip Stiles and Lydia have some fun banter before all hell breaks loose as a flock of birds breaks through the window of new teacher Ms. Blake’s classroom and attack everyone. It’s an incredible scene and the graphics are spot on (I see those tax credits are being put to some use) and there are so many layers to it, put there’s one thing in particular that caught my eye.

Despite everything going on this clip from Lydia and Stiles’ banter to the actual bird attack, what caught my eye the most was the look on Ms. Blake’s face when she approached the window. Look at the following gifs:

tumblr_mnbey3kVTQ1s0jowvo5_250Doesn’t it seem that before everything goes to shit that she has a look of “oh no, not again” or has seen something like this happen before? Her reaction is way more complex than just omg this is weird, it seems like there is some history behind the looks Haley Webb is giving in these two gifs. And why would she turn and look at Stiles and Lydia?

This leads me to believe that maybe Ms. Blake has some previous experience with the supernatural, specifically with this type of weird phenomena. We know from releases that Ms. Blake will find herself caught in the middle of the strange world of werewolves in Beacon Hills, could this be the start? Also, if you recall in the movie The Birds, things started happening when a young beautiful woman entered the town. Combine that with the news we might also be getting Druid story lines and it would make sense if her and Lydia were sort of attractors of the occult.

What do you think?

  1. Yes, her reaction puzzled me too. It gave me the impression she knew (or had a big suspicion about) what was happening and what (or who) was the cause of it. The first time I watched it I thought “Why is she looking at Lydia?!”
