What a turn of events this week with certain characters and how things aren’t exactly how you might picture something that you always thought would best thing…for Hannah it clearly didn’t work with how she planned things, but what will be the aftermath of her making this big decision and what’s to come after is definitely going to be a bumpy ride that’s all I can say.
Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) is at another job interview and the person conducting the interview tells her that she isn’t the right fit at this place, Shosh just doesn’t understand why she keeps being rejected and wants to know why she wasn’t picked for the job and wants the lady to tell her what’s wrong with her and she tells Shosh that she has an analytical mind and that she has a very simplistic matter about her. If only you would have taken that other job Shosh from last time that you shut down saying it was your “pre-interview” job.
Marnie (Allison Williams) and Jessa (Jemima Kirke) are together and Jessa is listening to Marnie and Desi’s song, Marnie wants some feedback about it, but Jessa gives her none. Shosh joins them and looks upset and tells them both that this had been the 7th interview in 2 weeks she’s had and how come no one ever told her how bad it was going to be in the real world. Oh I know that feeling all too well Shosh, how I wish I had known about many things that I know now that I could apply to the real world, but unfortunately I can’t go back. Marnie asks Shosh to give her some feedback on her song and Shosh listens to it and tells her it’s the type of song that once it’s played over and over again on the radio she would then love it. Marnie gets annoyed and tells both of them they are no help at all.
Back in Iowa with Hannah (Lena Dunham), is looking discouraged and Elijah (Andrew Rannells) tells that she is driving him crazy with her not doing anything. She tells him that she wanted to write, but was feeling trivial about it and mentions that her dad is coming over to have dinner with her.
Ray (Alex Karpovsky) is on the phone complaining about a street light that was put where he lives and takes forever and with all the honking you can hear yep I would be mad too Ray, that would seriously drive one crazy.
Hannah is outside her class, trying to write but nothing is coming to her when we see that a light bulb flashes in her mind and she starts typing…we see her putting a bunch of letters in these cubbies and runs away. We go back to Ray and just see him getting more annoyed at the noise pollution situation happening…he storms off his apartment and starts yelling at all the cars to shut the f up.
At Writer’s Workshop class everyone is talking about a letter that was left in their cubbies and everyone knows that it was Hannah, that made me chuckle because of course Hannah would do something like this, it’s Hannah. She tells them that this letter she wrote is a sincere and heartfelt apology for what happened at the poetry party, but no one from class seems to think it’s an apology when it says that it’s their fault she can’t write.
Ray is screaming like a mad man to all the cars still when he spots Shosh walking and he stops and tells her that he is going to run some errands and she wants to join him. Class is over and Hannah’s professor tells her to stay and tells Hannah that she is trying to figure out a way to help her because she seems unhappy here and that school is not for everyone…Hannah thinks she is getting kicked out of the program, but the professor tells her no and Hannah seems sad about that and tells that for a second she was so happy thinking she was going to get kicked out…something I have been noticing since the beginning of the season with her that she seemed so happy leaving New York, but here in Iowa the reality hit that maybe this wasn’t the best decision after all.
Marnie and Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) are writing and singing at her apartment, Desi is noticing that something is wrong…but Marnie tells him to keep going and that everything is good. Hannah is at dinner with her dad and he’s telling her that once her mom had written a book but that she wasn’t completely happy until she let that go and starting doing other things in her life. Hannah is telling her dad that she feels trapped at the Writer’s Workshop program and he tells her that she has to do what’s right for her and no one else. That scene with Hannah and her dad seems like there is more going on with her dad that we know and I’ve been wondering for a while what’s happening with her dad, from previous things we’ve seen in the past regarding him.
Ray and Shosh are at this clothing store and he’s looking at the prices and can’t believe that a shirt from there costs $70…Shosh makes him try it saying that he is not a loser anymore. She wants to tells Ray the real reason she wanted to see him and tells him the reason their relationship ended was because she wasn’t ready for it, but that she did love him…that she wants to help him and be his friend, but not to get back together again because as Shosh tells him that ship has sailed…it’s left the harbor…some of Shosh’s lines always give me a chuckle. Ray brings up the noise situation to her and tells him that he should go to a city council meeting and do something about it…so I have a feeling we will be seeing our Ray trying to do something about this in a future episode.
Marnie is asleep when she gets woken up by Desi yelling her name and pounding on the door and she opens it. He looks flustered and tells Marnie that he did it that he told Clementine the truth about him and Marnie and then starts crying and tells her that Clementine told him about about a guy that she was thinking about sexually and Marnie tells him that it sounds like she dumped him instead of the other way around and he starts kissing Marnie and goes down on her and Marnie smiles…oh girl seriously can’t believe you are okay with this…I would have told him to get the f out especially when clearly the only reason he broke it off with his girlfriend was because she mentioned having sexual fantasies about another guy…Marnie and her awful streak with men (expect for Ray because I feel those two have something that I like).
Hannah is in a taxi, she’s left Iowa and heads back to New York and goes to her and Adam’s apartment and as she is about to open the door it’s opened and Hannah is surprised it’s this girl and asks her name and it’s Mimi Rose (Gillian Jacobs) hey there Britta from Community…I truly always enjoy the guest stars they have on this show. Adam (Adam Driver) comes out and gives Hannah a hug, but she tells him it’s a stiff hug and she’s feeling disoriented and doesn’t notice that her couch and TV are here anymore. She asks Adam if Mimi is his new roommate and Adam awkwardly tells her no and it becomes clear to Hannah that Mimi is something else to Adam…man I wasn’t expecting that last scene, but it makes perfect sense after the previous episode and the talk that Adam and Jessa were having about a certain person he was hanging out with and that’s it folks end of the episode.
