This remix to Formation as inspired by Harriet Tubman is an amazing example of when we use our social media powers for good.

Speaking of Formation, have yall seen the Lemonade syllabus? I forgot to post this with the last one but I think this is so awesome. Great art should encourage people to consume more art and seek new voices, and with this syllabus you can take a phenomenal album and pair it with writings from prominent Black scholars, most importantly Black women.

As someone who has occasionally used Lyft and Uber (never again in the case of Uber), it’s crazy to think about trying to get around a city without them. Austin has gotten rid of both services and The Drive profiled what it’s like in the wake of that decision. I went to SXSW in 2012 and know the struggles of trying to hail a cab in that city during a busy time. I can’t imagine what it’s like with vaccum left by getting rid of Uber and Lyft.

RIP Hodor. Da7e wrote a brilliant piece outlining the consistent causal time loop that Hodor/Bran were a part of and what it means, in human terms.

I had completely forgot that there was going to be a Roots remake airing next week until I read this Vulture piece about how the original TV series obliterated the Tv ratings record when it first aired.

I’ve written about masculinity before and even then I was surprised to read this Washington Post piece about just how much the idea of masculinity has changed over the years. For what it’s worth, I think being a man is being true to yourself, pursuing what you want with no issues, and being respectful.

The situation at Baylor University is even more of a mess than I initially thought/heard of. This Sports Illustrated report details why exactly it’s become so toxic and it really is shameful how big money sports, particularly at the collegiate level, lead to crimes becoming covered up and rules trampled on.
